>New Zones are Soulless as fuck >Lore is completely broken and in shambles >Blizzard killed all the popular characters by now >Nothing in Shadowlands sounds exciting story-wise. No big bad evil, no mysterious happenings, no nothing. >Absolutely zero hype or buildup >Blizzard actively engaging with people like preach because the initial reaction to the new systems is overwhelmingly negative >More AP grind >Torghast is the saddest attempt at copying Roguelike systems i have ever seen. The same interior forever, no visual changes or different locations. Just the same mobs in the same environment and some cheap power ups for destroying fucking vases >Classes are still exactly the same as in BFA and some are even worse >Covenants are going to ruin the fun of a lot of people >No tiersets >No new class skills >No new class >No new race >No new stats >No new profession >No new character mechanics (think the introduction of jewels and jewelcrafting, reforging, glyphs etc) >No changes to M+ >Nothing new PvP related >No endgame systems besides m+ and raids >No deep class changes, just small balance changes >No new talents >No new interesting permanent lore characters
The new Zones feel like stuff made by modders. Very soulless and really bland. The gameplay is arguably worse than BFA, and logging in to the beta makes you feel like playing a BFA patch and not a expansion.
All new added systems are mobile gaming tier. Extremely easy to develop, very shallow, gated by layers of things (time, grind etc) and probably designed to hijack the brains of pet battle mount farmers. We can see that blizzard is working on Mobile titles, they are adding their new knowledge about them to WoW as mechanics.
What the fuck do you even want out of the new updates? Interesting raids? Then just play raid-centric mmo's. There's plenty out there. Modern WOW is the ultimate sunken cost fallacy simulator, except there was never any value to be had except for fun. Everyone I know who still plays says they don't enjoy it so why play?

I'm not even a Shadowlands defender but most of these points are false

Haven't kept up since the Blitzchung thing, is it really that bad?

I did to, and in fact id still love to work with Metzen, and rest of old story team. Just none of the faggots that joined in last 10 years and actively destroy all the lore.
I hard agree on Blizzard engaging with people like Preach. He doesn’t care about the rpg, he cares about raiding and that’s what will end up killing wow. He legit thinks being able to swap your covenant (faction essentially) at a moments notice is more immersive than being punished for breaking a bond
Dominic Myers
Wrong. I was going to shill FF14 but didn't because I figured no one would answer my question. You managed not to anyway.

>>No new race this is the most infuriating shit ever because it is so laughably easy to implement >still no humans of Stromgarde >still no humans of Alterac >still no humans of any of the other big 7 kingdoms of old
Lincoln Lopez
Covenants are a bad idea anyways. This is Blizzard there will be only one good covenant for leveling and one for end game.
Covenant look like a bad idea to some modern wow players (IMO) because the game is so focused on raiding and min maxing. Having a classic RPG element is something more modern players have never seen. When people ask for that old WoW feel to make things fun, I think what they want is their choice to matter, and making a ”wrong” choice is part of that.
Michael Roberts
Legit question:
How would you implement these to differentiate them from regular humans.
Easton Reyes
Why does Ion always insist on adding some bullshit system even when everyone hates them?
I wanna fuck dem dorf tiddies and spread my glaze all over them.

>I think what they want is their choice to matter, and making a ”wrong” choice is part of that.
Nobody will make a wrong choice because there will be guides for everything this would work for a Soulslike game but not a shit game like WoW where every single thing is data mined.

>implying anyone likes Azerite system and bullshit like it

Ok Shadowlands apologists, tell me why I should resub.
Kevin Bell
first off we’re talking about shadowlands secondly at this point azerite gear is completely fine and does a good job of enhancing your character in fun/interesting ways tons of specs have viable builds specifically based on azerite traits

the first month of a wow expansion is easily the best mmo on the market

Dude doesnt remember what race he was but he remembers he was a chick? What the fuck...so your gender is a more integral part of your identity than your race to these people? Try saying "I am a male human" and then "I am a human male". Which one sounds right?
Cameron Turner
They now truly are the Blood Elves. Alliance Crips when?
Michael Ramirez
Yet all the covenants offer is one (1) skill each. If there was any reason to get immersed in the covenants, if they had any identity, then yes being punished for breaking a bond would make sense. But there's none. It's quite literally just "pick one of these four skills".
Also of note is that in this expansion, there's no new talent tier. Covenant skills replace that. But talents can be hotswapped while covenant skills can't. What makes the covenant tier talents so special they can't be changed? Exactly nothing, but here we are.

You are right, but that’s why I think this system is ok. People who really minmax, and world first raiders will already know going in what they need to pick, while people who are looking for an immersive rpg element will love picking a faction they want to represent.

NON-WOWFAG here, i just wanted to know one thing i saw the trailer and sylvanas breaking the sky to shit, what the fuck does that even mean? is azeroth some kinda simulation?
He’s right, the first month of an expansion is when everything is new, classes are not yet completely solved, and the meta hasn’t been established. Or if you’re looking for more of an immersive experience, there’s always a huge boom in players at the start of every expansion so there’s always people to talk to
