library overload
When you buy a game you are motivated by sunken cost.
when you download something that feeling isnt there.

>download dozens of games
>download all conceivable exclusives
>download everything I can think of
try only downloading games that you actually want to play
and stop being a faggot

I am TELLING you to go play Soul Hackers RIGHT NOW
I am taking away your choice, so now you have your motivation back!

sorry I'm like off my meds, but this makes me think of a book I read, Otaku by hiroki azuma, about the development of anime in the 90s and the manic otaku fandom around it. one of the points of the book is that obsessive anime fans think of "anime" as a huge "database" of shows, characters, scenarios, traits ("moe"), and that by watching it obsessively they get to internally categorize it. so you have like uber autists who say "I love cat girls" and "I love glasses characters", and they watch all the cat girl and glasses character anime, and they compare which cat girls are more cat-like and which glasses characters are tsundere and ruin the glasses aspect of it, shit like that

anyways it made me think that so many anime/videogame people are like this, probably because of some level of autism, that people play and collect videogames out of this compulsive need to classify them without actually caring about playing them

Your retort [in the context of OP] makes it sound like video games are worthless and anyone only ever feels compelled to play them is because they wasted money

>>I'm like off my meds
>realized i've never actually seen the instructions on when to take my adhd medication
>it says i'm meant to take it daily
>mfw i took them last 2 months ago
No wonder i've been feeling worthless, suicidal and lazy for months now

Paralyzed by choice. It's a real psychological phenomena.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analysis_paralysis

This is why Zig Forums complains a bout having nothing to play despite having access to more games now than they ever had any time previously in their lives either free, paid, or simply available any time at the tips of their fingers.
It's why we think of Steam as being garbage despite the fact it has the most games of any distributor to have ever existed and only requires a minor amount of sifting to find good, free games ready to play.
It's why after you softmod your console and have every game available to you, you are likely to play less games than if you had bought them.

Don't download every game, download one at a time. Too many choices gives you analysis paralysis.

Also this.

>took them last 2 months ago
What the fuck kind of pills do you only need to pop once every 2 months? Cyanide?

Well, I don't need them for daily usage [in theory], since they are used primarily when I can't focus on work or just need that extra bit of motivation.
But without them I feel like shit, which is sad because I've felt like shit before I started taking them and just forgot how miserable I am when I'm not studying/working on these meds

thank you for reading my blog

of course I know this is what's going on, I'm not retarded, it's just sad because like said it starts to make you feel like if something can't actually grab your attention, what's the point of playing vidya at all

it looks so ugly compared to IV, but people say it's great. is that true? I was thinking of playing devil survivor since the gameplay is totally different

step 1. pick a game
step 2. force yourself to play it
step 3. realize you enjoy it enough to play on its own

clearly you've never bought a game and then left it in the plastic for months before selling it
still haven't touched Luigi's Mansion 3

That's rough. You need to tell your doctor (once you can get an appointment). Feeling suicidal isn't a normal response to not taking your ADHD meds

>still haven't touched Luigi's Mansion 3
That's because it's not a good or enticing game, nintendo already met their quota of exciting games for the decade.

jesus christ you're a massive faggot OP. neck yourself.

Im playing rocket slime right now i wish i actually owned a copy of this game it’s super fun to launch stuff from my giant mech slime and then launch myself to go and fuck up the core of the enemy mech, also im saving all my slime friends and the town looks nicer

>mod PS2
>install HDD
>play through a dozen games I never got to experience as a kid
>still have a hundred or so to enjoy

LOL no is sunken time and I still feel it just fine

Maybe I miswrote my last post but what I mean't to say is that before I started taking the medication I was already feeling suicidal and down, but the meds improved my life so much in such a subtle way that it's sad to be without that energy and drive in life.
I've was take to a psychiatrist to treat my clinical depression when I was 14 after a relative passed, I have always been a loner and prone to sadness thought, a good work ethic helps me drown out any negative emotions though

"Everything" by definition includes what he actually want to play.

that game was the shit

*I was taken to a psychiatrist

>it looks so ugly compared to IV, but people say it's great. is that true?
It's a much older game, so take from that what you will. Most people agree it's a very good game for its time though

Maybe it says something about your mental aspect. Mere video games no longer scratch that itch for fleeting stimulation. It's probably your mind telling you that it's time to get out of the house for human and nature interaction. The placebo that is 'video games' can only stimulate for only a short while.

>Buy a few games on the steam sale
>100%ing every single one and having a blast doing so
I love video games bros.

Anyone got the basedjak edit of this?

I'm OP, and I even fucking forgot that I bought a modded PS2 about a year ago for $30, burned 50+ games to DVDs

this one actually paid off, bought a beatmania controller and played the shit out of Empress. one of the best purchases I ever made

Where can I learn how to properly mod my PS3 to play free games?
Please RESPOND

I can relate to some of those feelings and as much as I hate my job I'm thankful that the covid outbreak hasn't changed my life too much.
There's a book I read once called How to Be Miserable: 40 Strategies You Already Use
It didn't change my life but it helped me to see that the reason I get so down is because of how I react to shit events in life. I need to stop dwelling on things that don't or shouldn't matter and focus on things that will help me to be happy. I don't know if the book would help you but it's an interesting read.

I'm in this post and I don't like it.

you will have to get somebody to do it, and this will cost you ~$120, $60-80 of that will be shipping there/back. it's quite involved

Alright then how back just hacking it to play free ps3 games
please please PLEASE respond

Stop playing games for a little while. Take a break for a week or 2, maybe even a month. You'll come back and feel a bit better, and be in a better mental state to play games.

I can relate, I realized that I should remove stress from my life and react to life with jest and don't take things hard.
I like to spend allot of time unwinding whenever I don't have to/don't want to study and then I work for hours and sometimes days without sleep because of this no-stress approach.
The medication helps with studying though

unless you have a ps3 from 10 years ago that never connected to the internet, it will be on high enough firmware that you have to hardmod it.

someone will have to do this for you. you might be able to find someone in a nearby city, but otherwise you will need to connect with someone online, pay to ship it there and back, and pay them

Just trying citre on my pc. Where do you get your 3ds games?

this desu
stopped after softmodding the wii and never touching it again. no fun being spoilt for choice.

fuck bros
I thought this whole thing was easy!

As for the games:
there's more than one way to install games:
1. installing as a psn title, it's a instalable .pkg file and a .rap file that you need to create a custom license or the game won't boot. videos on YouTube explain how to do that.
2. puting a .iso file or the extracted game folder inside a thumb drive/external HDD and running it as an emulated disc (if you want something more advanced you can transfer the files to the internal HDD)

one problem though: the PS3 can only read FAT32 file systems. That means you can't work with files bigger than 4GB (most games are much bigger). Lurk on reddit threads and YouTube videos to learn how to work around this issue. (Best way is to set up a PC to transfer files directly into the PS3 through your LAN)

to download games there are also reddit threads that can help you

I've pirated games my entire life, only recently buying some of them, and have never experienced this OP. Literally just play whatever you find interesting and pick up another hobby unrelated to technology so it feels like a breath of fresh air when you play a game.
t. learning another language before I play vidya all night

no sorry

DS/GBA you just buy flash carts, Dreamcast you can burn your own CDs, Wii/Wii U you only need a PC to run a few programs, 3DS you literally just need any computer to move files and visit websites. dunno about the switch, haven't tried it yet.

the PS2/PS3 you need to hardmod which means soldering and shit
