It's unironically not a game, it's a fucking book. Idk why it's allowed on Zig Forums.
It's a fun book though. The interpersonal struggles are great, and the atmosphere is well constructed for the most part. Don't go into it thinking it's going to be a mystery story all the way through. It's much more focused on the character drama.

Play the first episode and see for yourself. Honestly the peak of Umineko, for me at least. Play the next ones if you like it.

Nobody likes Umineko fags. They're the bottom pit of the VNs community. All they do is repost unfunny shit and get triggered so easily when you mention Fate to them. They're more whiny than any Clannad fag.
Maybe that's why Trails in the Sky and Umineko fans are so close to each other. They're the garbage of VNs and JRPG and nobody likes them because they're unfunny retards that's stuck in 2013.

In hindsight the episode is better when you get what's actually going in but it still drags on for way too long for my tastes.

Not 50+ hours, no. It has good music and can be entertaining at times, but ultimately bullshit that simply wastes your time going nowhere. Characters are garbage (I honestly don’t know how that r07 hack managed to make such a great and likeable cast in higurashi and fucked up in umineko with those shitty unlikable dickwads)

If you read the thread, you’ll notice only arguments pro-umineko are either filtered or goat, while critics are often articulate and well constructed. That should tell you the kind of retards that like it.

It's fine. I cringed a couple of times and it did take me out of my immersion but it's infrequent enough that it barely affects your experience.
