Likeable characters help

Yeah I'll shit on the game but this part was actually pretty good. Ignoring all the retconning to make Bob-omb explosions final anyway. Of all the partners his explanations for not going into dungeons made sense too. He just didn't feel like it. Just leaving Olivia crumpled on the ground and continuing to the Monty Mole mine was amusing too.

Nothing really. I was surprised the game let you go until the next magic circle you need her for. Cleared out the treasure and stuff in the mines then went back. It was just funny watching Bobby sacrifice himself for her then Mario just strolls into the cave paying her no mind.

Once I got into the lategame with the board being a scrambled mess, I used the Toad Cheers pretty often.
Still finished the game with 55k coins and nearly all the accessories bought, so don't feel bad.

Me user. The puzzles get a little more difficult as the game progresses, and not just in moves but in mechanics as well. Boos disappear requiring you to memorize where they are, etc. I smoke when I play so sometimes my brain just locks up on puzzles and I brute force my way through.

The whole point of this is an easy tear jerker for kids and the realization that every bob-omb you've attacked and beaten to the point of exploding legit died and were capable of actual sentient emotion.

This was not show to be the case till this game.

The same thing that happens to every other enemy, and they end up fine after battles in the RPGs (including Sticker Star and Paper Jam, which is part of the new PM canon). The King Bob-Omb in 64 even comes back after exploding and tells Mario to revisit him if he wants, and even has a rematch in the DS version
