I do wonder if Bungie is being rushed or otherwise hindered by Microsoft? Infinite should appear much better than it does. Should that reflect on the actual hardware capabilities or the team developing the game? I'm going to to say the team. The specs should allow for much, much more, even when considering the first wave of new generation games can be rough around the edges in some ways. I'm not too concerned either way, I don't care about Halo, and if Microsoft ever gets around to making a new Perfect Dark I'll get it on gamepass PC. No need to buy a Series X period. Makes it pretty easy to settle on PS5 a year or so after launch.

Been replaying BotW today on my Lite and it still somehow manages to be breathtaking. I even got platinum in Ghost of Tsushima few days ago and while that game was pretty as fuck, it still didn't wow me as much as BotW still does. Honestly it might be the wider fov and more distinct art style that makes the difference for me.

Don't 3D models have diminishing returns? Models can't really get better aside from the modelers personal skills. It seems like what matters more now is just lighting systems and texture work and people are just upset the textures aren't up to snuff yet. What still matters is gameplay.
