I trust them to an extent. A couple of reviewers have similar tastes to my own so if there is a game I'm interested in I'll check to see if any of them have done a review of it. If they have I check out the review and see what they liked/didn't like about it the consider whether or not I would likely have a similar experience based on my own tastes. No review could convince me to not buy a game in a series I really liked and no review could [on its own] convince me to buy a game in a series I really dislike.
