>DUDE TRUST ME VR IS THE FUTURE
>5 years later (the future), vr is practically dead
What wen wrong? Was it a con? It seems that all those big names who were shilling vr cashed out and disappeared.

There has yet to be an actual ambitious game made with VR. No, a Half Life 2 mod doesn't count.
They forgot games sell systems and didn't make any, that and how fragmented VR is, which sucks for developers.
Cope.
>There has yet to be an actual ambitious game made with VR. No, a Half Life 2 mod doesn't count.
Sounds like cope to me.
People have been saying this for years. If vr were truly the future, a similar transition to 2d-to-3d already occurred.
it was the wii all over again
Wii actually had a massive library of good exclusives and games. VR doesn't even have its Wii Sports, there's maybe one mini-game done well (Beat Saber) and that's it. The rest is indie trash that uses VR as a crutch to make a shitty game seem better than it really is.
It's too expensive.
People want something out of a matrix simulation, not some googles and handles to play around. Until technology isn't that advanced, no one will be interested and besides, it's just too expensive.
i think there's still people lining up for indexes
i have over 2000 hours in steam vr now, it's dope
make it redder
Wii had an amazing library and lots of hidden gems, and if you're not a fag, you'd realize that motion controls are awesome, it's basically is Nintendo's PS2.
VR on the other hand has only 1 decent game, (astro bot) that is very overrated rated, one of the reasons being that everything on VR is garbage, and something decent is seen as the second coming of Jesus.
>cope
You sound like an the exact epitome of a faggot.
Coping with what? All the VR games I've played have been shit. People don't want to play shitty games so they don't buy VR. It's that simple.
lel VR-lets are mad.
I mean he's right. That said, I don't see anything changing that any time soon which is the problem.
>VR on the other hand has only 1 decent game, (astro bot)
PSVR dear.
>Wii actually had a massive library of good exclusives and games
it's hard enough to convince myself to play games now, but having to put on this heavy uncomfortable helmet is too much to ask for. You take it off and your hair is a complete mess, your face is puffy and sweaty, you're hot. It's awful. And i'm constantly paranoid people could be breaking into my house and I wouldn't even know about it. Scary.
Price is still up there.
I'd drop 100$ in leafbux but the lowest I see them at is 200 at gaystop

I mean sure, if you HATE games, then Wii was completely skippable.
>vsrecommended
too expensive and nobody is autistic enough to cut himself from all his surroundings
it's a stupid feature
vr won't ever get big without actual brain projection and thought control
as soon as that is available it will mean the end to traditional gaming and society as its effects will be worse than any drug
Suit yourself.
>nobody is autistic enough to cut himself from all his surroundings
Normalfag detected.
I can see myself wearing a mind altering vr mmo game matrix type if that gives me a chance to leave this forsaken and liberal infest hellhole.
corona fucked up the supply chain for headsets. it isn't dead, prices for used units were massively inflated, showing there is still demand. maybe if you got a job or something and tried it out you'd find it's pretty neat tech, isn't it?
re7 is great in VR
/vg/ is being worthless as usual.
How do you connect a cardboard with android to a PC and actually play vidya on it? I could only find kike paid tools and no cracks.
lol
>gun moves with your head
>great
pffft....lol.
I don't expect miracles, I just want to mess around a bit.
lol
tehehe
le maximum kekaroonies xd
Look at dis dood lole
riftcat is good, give it a chance, last time i've tried it it was the only reasonable non-hacky option. i remember some free options, including sending accelerometer position to pc through some program and using shadowplay to stream image to smartphone, but you don't want to do this.
you probably don't want to do this anyway, since none of those solutions would feature positional tracking
>got so btfo he had to cry on Zig Forums
lul
stop spamming, worthless samefag.
>new headsets released monthly
>sold out everywhere
>alyx
>pavlov lobbies are full of people
>vrchat is full of people
it's the future, you just choose not to participate in it
T. Dobson
>still so popular you can't buy a headset
how delusional are you
hehehe
Lol.
Kuk
kek
lmao
hah
It was all a con to make you cry on Zig Forums.
Only work for porn and sissy hypno.
haha
>cardboard with android
why would you do this
lol
it's so dead it still gets daily cope threads from people that don't have a VR headset
Starting price is too high, the tech has a bad rep with people prone to motion sickness, and at the end of the day people won't buy a VR set so they can play essentially mini-games and the same games they can play on the PC.
That said I kinda want to buy one when the price drops to test out Subnautica and OW in VR, among others.
K whatever fag
what are some other good recommendations
damn that's cool
Well, I figured out how to get it working with SteamVR. Samefag spammer can suck a million dicks, it's actually not half bad on a 6.3 inch 1080 android screen.
For the cost of building that he could have just bought a car and gone and driven it on a dirt track lol
if you get motion sick from vr you probably should off yourself
it's not that uncommon, but you get over it in a week
The tradeoff though is you'll be driving some shitty beater instead of literally any car you want. Also you'd probably worry about breaking the car or killing yourself.
>he could have just bought a car
what sort of car do you think he could buy for the price of that setup lol
and then go broke trying to fix it after sending it into a tree
yet, vr headsets are constantly sold out. More and more big compagnies are creating vr games. You should try playing vr games, you'll change your mind real quick.
>Also you'd probably worry about breaking the car or killing yourself.
have common sense, get basic safety equipment like rollcage, don't push over your limit, problem's solved.
direct drive wheel (i think? base looks like one) and motion platform? $6k, i imagine?
still, i completely understand the appeal of sim racing and i'm not dumb enough to claim that real motorsports and sim racing are interchangable hobbies
>not a single Oculus exclusive
They are some of the highest quality VR content
