Redpill me on Red Dead Online
Redpill me on Red Dead Online
It's shit
It's comfy to play the trader and moonshiner roles.
I just wish it didn't cost gold to start them.
Fuck the character creator, I redid mine because he looked mixed for some reason and then he looked native. Was it really so hard for them to have a similar skin tone to the main characters, jesus christ.
Objectively garbage. Locking shit behind gold, lack of any fun activities, etc. Even day 1 GTAO where shit was overpriced and you were underpaid was a better experience.
a better question: can you RP as this nigga?
There's nothing to do. Not even enemy gang hideouts to shoot up like RDR1.
I don't know if it's intentional but you really can't make a white male character who doesn't look inbred. It takes a LOT of tweaking and redoing to get one to look remotely human.
And yet you can make a downright handsome mexican man and a bombshell ginger girl.
its good to play if you had 3 seconds to live and wanted to play a game before you died and this was the game that was closest to you
>3 second left to live
You'd be dead for 20 minutes before you found a lobby.
I played with my friend, we went on comfy hunting missions together, timing our shots to get perfect deer without spooking them.
It was fun for a bit but the rest of the missions were below average. Then the moonshine job arrived and it was bugged to shit and didn't work and PVP was forced (selling trade goods was PVE) so we abandoned the game.
It is boring
yes there are you fucking idiot. they're random events though.
Can you build/customize houses yet? I like how RDR2 plays but I need something to work toward and RDO lacked that when I played at launch.
businesses are the only thing at the moment. unironically suggest it to Rockstar and they might do it. people were complaining about the lack of legendary animals and now we have them in single player
It can be fun but everything new is locked behind paywalls and if you've been playing for a while and have a decent gold stockpile its not a problem but if you're a new player expect to pay up for a bunch of gold to play anything fun or anything that was released in the last two years.
There is a single business that you can build/upgrade/customize but no houses yet.
There are "roles" in RDO now. Trader, collector, bounty hunter, moonshiner, and naturalist. Naturalist released just today.
Trader, you hunt animals and sell the pelts and antlers and decorative parts.
Collector, you collect antiques or rarities and sell them to an exotic QT.
Bounty hunter, you're a saloon whore. Just kidding, you hunt bounties.
Moonshiner, you make moonshine and sell it, avoiding the law.
Naturalist, you track legendary animals and take photos and samples from them. Or kill 'em.
All of them have something to work for; but that thing with all of them is becoming more efficient at it with tools and skills you unlock from advancing the role. For me, trader is comfy and I'm gonna start moonshiner soon.
>I need something to work toward and RDO lacked that when I played at launch
No houses, but you can become a Trader (hunting, furs, that kind of thing), a Moonshiner, or a Bounty Hunter
Adds stuff to your camp over time as you level up in those roles, gives you at least something to work towards
Costs gold to start though, so the initial pointless grind is still there
or you can just buy Gold with real money which is clearly what they designed it around because it's fucking Rockstar
PvP is not fun at all especially since someone with a decent rifle and dead-eye can snipe you before they're even on your minimap, then you spawn far away and your dumbass horse takes like a minute to find you. And even if all you really want to do is blow up some heads then there's no heavily populated vertical areas like Escalera or RDR1 Blackwater. I just jumped in a few weeks ago and bounty hunter and trader were legitimately fun (especially those legendary bounties) but being "Online" adds nothing to the experience unlike GTAO
Based
people only dead eye in the pvp game modes. I've never encountered a dead eye user in free roam.
>being "Online" adds nothing to the experience
Probably in the minority, but I like this. All I ever wanted out of RDO was to create my own guy and live in that world doing my own thing. Nothing better than ending up on a server where there's only a few other people halfway across the map and you never see them.
>Dreamed of buying a comfy house in the mountains and becoming a hunter before online came out
>This shit STILL isn't possible because there are no houses
I couldn't play online for more than a few minutes.
Rockstar games in single player feel smooth and fluid but then you transition over to multiplayer on the same game and it's suddenly a painful slog.
good taste but red dead online is shit, holden would spit on it
so wait a minute, the new role is literally just hunting animals (good luck getting these niggas to spawn) and photographing them?.........................................
if you enjoy boring, tedious shit and spending your free time grinding towards absolutely nothing you'll enjoy red dead online. once 5 years passes and rockstar decides to invest a little bit of the hundreds of millions they've made off of microtransactions into actual development, it will resemble a semi-finished online mode. i suggest you wait until then before wasting your time with this piece of shit.
Did they nerf Slippery Bastard yet? I used to use it defensively so I could run away whenever a griefer started chasing me but I haven't played this shit in like a year
Red Dead Online means no Undead Nightmare 2 which means I won't be playing Red Dead Online
God I would kill for undead nightmare 2
We gave Rockstar over a billion dollars and they can't be bothered to give us Undead Nightmare 2 while also neglecting RDO ffs.
I thought they fixed animal spawns in MP like months ago
Havent played tho
>Strauss always puts bat wings in the collection box
>A few other members start doing it too, usually the ones who stay at camp
Strauss is a Vampire and everybody else who puts in bat wings are his Thralls
We'll probably get it eventually but it'll be an RDO seasonal event or something.
