If you played all of the Soulsborne games up to DS3 release, then it plays like a fan made romhack/mod rather than a mainline game

The variety in level design (The entire game is just cathedrals that have linear paths leading to other cathedrals)
The most linear souls game in the franchise.
Myriad of game balancing issues that affected PvE and PvP for the entirety of the game. The most egregious offender being the lack of poise until the AoA update and the 2H/STR being incredibly weak until TRC update. Prior to TRC there was no reason to use a slow 2H weapon over fast and light weapons unless you wanted to meme with BKGS WA wombo combo
First DLC was shit, literally 2 bosses:
one of which was just a invader NPC with a basic dog enemy upscaled to be big
The other was just a Lady Maria clone with a hint of O&S splashed in.

TRC is the only good aspect of DS3, and that's sad.
