Are any of the Star Fox games worth playing?

Its more rushed, and you can really tell. Otherwise, it does for Zelda what Banjo did for Mario.

These being Nintendo titles, I would assume there would be nothing to be missed out on story wise if I skipped certain games.

Actually, Adventures leads into Assault. Thats it though.

In terms of gameplay and fun its a bit qlacking compared to their work on SNES & N64. However the signature Rare atmosphere is on full display and it's an interesting glimpse into what could have been if Rare and stayed with Nintendo.

The low frame rates are bothersome but I still contend it's a decent time.

You can't tell it's "rushed" until the end of the game, and by then you're one final boss away from the finish line.

The first game is the only one with a really bad framerate.

As of 2020 if you have a switch and paid for the online service go try out star fox and star fox 2 since they're free with the subscription. Other than those if can try to play star fox 64 or 64 3D if you have a 3DS. Besides those I can only say if you want to try playing the other games you'll need to really need to go put of your way to buy and play those games which are lackluster.
