Thought it was thursday but I guess timezones fuckery means it's tommorow which is great. I played a bit today and the combat is still way too fun. I'm glad the dlc is gonna add new enemies because really it's what this game needs. The combat is kind of held back by the braindead enemies

Not very flashy looking which makes it look deceptively boring, but it’s got big potential for its moveset. I’ll definitely use it, I used Odachi and Tonfa as soon as they were added with the first game’s DLC.

Yeah that’s been the theory since the game came out. You kill Shuten Doji and Otakemaru in Nioh 2 while William killed Tamamo no Mae back in Nioh 1 (the three strongest Yokai of all time), and in Nioh 2’s ending you have visions of the three guys who originally sealed those three Yokai away in Byodo-In in the first place, so people have been expecting the DLCs to feature time travel ever since it was announced that they were canonically set before the main campaign.

Abyss wasn’t added until Nioh’s final DLC unfortunately, so I imagine they’ll do the same thing here too. DLC1 and DLC2 added new weapon types, and DLC3 had no new weapon types but had the Abyss and some other stuff to compensate. IIRC KT have already said that Nioh 2’s DLC will only add two new weapon types again, so it’s likely they’ll package the Abyss in with whichever one doesn’t get a new weapon (again, most likely the final one).
