It's a compromise, I'd say. Halo Infinite targets 4K 60 fps in an open-world setting, so the graphics had to take a hit. If game targets 30 fps, the graphics would be much prettier, but a shooter at 30 fps isn't ideal. Hopefully the PC version will allow for more graphics options.

Just now its a bitch at the start. Literally the beginning is set agents you. Like when you start the game -You're one of the sole survivors of a ship wreck and once you return to your home village, every mother fucker blames YOU of all people for their loved ones deaths, even though you had nothing to do with it. They also want to take your house because you were away and didn't pay your rent in advance. But just ignore that quest and explore. Just know its very odd, unlike most. Yeah, I tried the borderlands games before and they were the most mind numbingly boring shooters that i’ve ever played. The enemies barely move. Also their visual style is headache inducing.

Nah, they gimped the game cause it has to also run on the shitty xbox that came out in 2013.
The new xbox is powerful enough to play games at 4k60 and still make them look good, hell the xbox one x runs rdr2 at 4k30.

All of these require super high performance and low overhead rendering. The design for an engine for some shit like Valorant or CS:GO are going to be COMPLETELY different to some shit like Borderlands 3 or Anthem. There's a reason these games look the way they do.
