it's 10 times better than HL2 but that's not saying much
all the cool bits of HL ended up on the cutting room floor or were barely implemented
soldier AI is still kinda good by today's standards, but today's standards for AI is not getting stuck in level geometry is 12/10 AI

Maybe the free demo thing that's not been updated since ever, but the full game is completely fine, even the AI stuff is fixed.
