I love how comfy yet brutal it is. Hope to see more games with physics based animation in the future.

That's a hard choice without putting much thought into it. So I'll just default to FTL even though it's not the best balanced game and I play with a balance mod.

wtf, how many hours?

>play this game, pretty dogshit at games overall
>drop it, pick it back up, drop it again
>pick it up for the 3rd time since I'm a stubborn faggot
>it finally clicks
absolute kino in game form

Is it similar to slay the spire?

Np. People say it is because it has cards, but then completely ignore its tower defense aspect. I'd say it leans towards Plants vs Zombies than Slay the Spire.
That's not a bad thing, of course, just saying it's different enough on its own.

Might have to try it out then, PvZ is great (the first one that is)

I'm not even good at it but I can still respect how well made and fun it is.

love the music
simple yet effective mechanisms
light dialogs

maybe it's missing ship-building & infinite mode

It has a good balance of feeling bullshit when you start yet being consistent to win when you have knowledge.

Cave Story

Get the Captain's Edition mod and play another hundred hours. It has an endless mode.

Maybe not my favorite of all time, but this game is incredibly kino and I feel it never got the attention it deserved. I still haven't played the sequel though.

idk I've heard captain edition's mod kinda adds bloat. I prefer the balance mod that's posted in various places. Makes hacking less OP and balances the prices of various other things.

Twinge's balance mod?

that's a good one too, props to the dev

Yeah that's the one I use. Don't know which version I use think it's a bit outdated from his last update but I like using it.

Sure it adds in a little bloat into the weapon drop pool, but it adds tons of new mechanics that mesh so well with the base game that I can't play without it anymore. Give it a try

somehow this chink postmodernism is completely obscure
