I always wondered exactly how the hookshot was supposed to work. Seeing the high quality render I can imagine there's some sort of cylinder the chain is wrapped around, the cylinder spins at the press of a button or something (magically because why not) causing the chain to spring out, to retract it the cylinder would simply spin in the other direction. Still, it would make more sense if the hookshot worked like in smash, where it falls to the ground after being shot instead of shooting straight out and back in like in oot.
