Frontier is just lazy as hell, at least they released a functioning game even though it's boring as shit, and there's also barely any monetization.
What CIG is doing is so beyond reprehensible it's hard to even put into words honestly

There's a lot with SC already here that shows potential for it to be great if they ever manage to achieve the scale they envision, I sincerely believe in that fact.
The problem is that they are actually fucking retarded and have no sense of project management and an assumption that if they keep making ships and ship concepts that they have infinite money. What the game needs more than anything is a fucking restructure that goes a little something like this:
>Get S42 feature complete and released FIRST, you can keep the dumb ship shop up until the SC half of things is done, this way you have a solid single player game people can buy, you have a definitive proof that you can actually fucking finish shit
>Stablize the current build of SC, make sure it runs its best so when a Fly Free period happens it's not a fucking burning dumpster of bugs and connection issues
>Roll out the unadded features from S42 to SC via the PTU, making sure everything is stable BEFORE putting out a normal update
>When SC is feature complete, implement the larger servers and star systems one aspect at a time
>Release it as SC 1.0 and promise future updates and additions to the PU based on income flowing in, because it's a persistent universe and as such is not restricted in ways S42 would be concerning this

It would also help if Frontier didn't have years of nearly FUCKING NOTHING going on in the game in terms of new updates. They don't even do those shitty CGs anymore. They really do seem to be betting everything on Odyssey being a success.
