I am in VRChat right now with blankets over me as I make this post in the rainy drifter world using desktopplus, but I'm here getting cozy, not ERPing like a fucking degenerate coomer
>with blankets over me
How does that work with tracking?
please please please
I don't use feet trackers, and my arms are above the bedsheets. My character is in seated mode, and I am sitting upright on my computer chair with my legs on my bed.
>I don't use feet trackers
Meh. I can't do VRChat without FBT anymore.
It makes literally zero difference to me when 90% of the time I use VRChat to get cozy by myself in a serene environment and watch some movies or anime and have no need for leg trackers cause I'm not even really around anyone that can see me moving my legs, like, I only use bigscreen when I wanna watch something with someone else these days, when it comes to being on my own I just go into private worlds and get cozy. Besides, I still feel the sensation of sitting down and my eyes are focused on a giant floating virtual screen in front of me so it's not like my brain really has any disconnect.
I like to see my own legs. Having full tracking is comfier and way easier to immerse in than some floating limbs.
I would like to try FBT at some point too but not "$300" want to try it.
>Most FBT fags nowadays just use it to lie down and playspace move themselves around in the most janky uncanney valley fashion.
I hate VRChat.
That's fair, but I don't consider $300 in addition to the price of Index and an okay PC to be too prohibitive for the kind of features this adds to VRChat.
It's all about personal immersion. Most people that I know use FBT more for themselves than others' benefit.
The difference is when I got my index I knew exactly what I was gonna do with it and how much I was gonna use it, and the answer to that was a lot.
I don't have the same confidence in a FBT purchase (because I use VR for mostly anti social purposes) unless I can use FBT to virtualize a dance mat for stepmania simfiles in Holodance, because outside of that I'd only be using it for VRChat and Blade & Sorcery. I'm not gonna pay almost the price of my original vive before I moved to my index just so I can wave my feet around and do almost fuck all other than that.
That's fine, you don't have to get it, especially if you don't have excess money.
I only use VR for a few (5-10 or so?) hours of VRChat per week these days and I don't regret getting FBT. I really like the amount of immersion it adds.
Because I'm too scared to interact with others.
i can't ever find much reason to play this game which makes me feel kind of bad because i have a decent amount of friends who play it
not to mention i have issues with anxiety and i have a hard time talking in groups
Damn, what did you play for 3k hours if not VRChat?
There's a stepmania dance world that uses FBT, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
A bunch of other games with like 2 to 32 hour increments in them each. A lot of it was probably EmuVR though.
I don't even have 1000 hours in SteamVR and I feel brain damage accumulating as I reach 300 hours in Pavlov.
I'd play Assetto Corsa more but it's honestly kind of boring and there's a monumental skill gap between me and mostly everybody online.
Because everyone just together behind mirrors.
COOMER
ENDGAME
VRChat isn't a game.
I literally have not sat down to watch a movie or TV show outside of bigscreen beta or a virtual desktop application in like 3 years at this point, there's no reason for me to use my tiny real life television when I can make a gigantic VR television in any kind of location I want, at any size I want, in any elevation I want, at no real downside now too thanks to the index's *almost* imperceptible screen door effect. I can lay down flat on my bed looking upwards at a screen without the risk of it falling on me.
The amount of convenience VR has given me over the years goes beyond just playing video games with it for me, I am in a better and more relaxed mental state because I can "get away from it all" using VR, and pretend to live extravagantly while I escape the claustrophobia of my room.
>vr
Sounds nice, unfortunately I need to wear contact lenses to see sharply in Index and it's a combination of expense and inconvenience that I just use VR every once in a blue moon for video games, and I usually wait until some game updates or some new release I want to check out.
How do you homos justify having paid 1000 thousand dollars for a helmet that just shows you what you'd look like as an anime girl and allows you to virtually suck off other grown men who are doing the same?
Well 1000$ isn't that much for starters.
>a helmet that just shows you what you'd look like as an anime girl
it's a miracle of our time that we can achieve this for only $1,000. I have no regrets
Don't project your own desires onto other people user.
Personally i play a ton of H3VR and beatsaber because its a ton of fun that i can't get on a flat screen.
Well look at mr fucking moneybags over here with his fat wallet of $1000 bills.
If vidya games, PC to be exact is pretty much your only hobby you don't really have so many expenses, especially if you pirate a lot.
After the quarantine, it isn't really that surprising. I got temporarily laid off from my job and have been collecting $900 every single week since March. I'm still using my old Oculus Rift, though. Feels far wiser to be happy with what I have while banking my covid bucks for future needs.
