>people wanting cathay >people unironically wanting another human race and not being original in ideas. >tfw I want asian fantasy to havr all the elemental bending, ninjitsu, magic shugenjas, cutie geishas and crazy chink warlord in it. >Except they are all insects.
Warhammer already has started with the crazy dinosaur mexicans, egyptian skeletons not to mention demon worshipping ikea warriors and all that so there is little point to not go all out and make Cathay and Nippon uniqur by making them insect people.
Yes they can go all out with insect monsters up to cutie insect mages who flirts with empire ambassadors. They also migjt or might not eat humans too.
Warhammer fantasy is already doing aztec dinos, arab and egyptian skellies along with crazy goat fucking brit barbarians so insect asians is nothing to be bothered with at this point.
Lets not forget it makes things unique so thats cool too.
Landon Nguyen
Chaos of Daemons and Kislev. I reckon either Kislev or Dogs of War is going to be dlc, probably Dogs of War as they're harder to implement to a main campaign mechanic.
Cameron Bailey
none of those are even near as offensive as how "insect" is used as a racial slur for asians, this would never ever go through
Oliver Torres
They're Skaven fodder, to the point that their most recent king might actually just be a Skaven. They also get eaten constantly by Ogres and in End Times they get krumped by Orks. That's all from memory at least, I could be wrong.
Sebastian Ross
Their workers got eaten by ogres, so they summoned a comet that created the great maw and drove ogres in to near extinction. They are also ruled by dragon emperor and worship(?) Tzeentch indirectly
Dominic Morris
Give me Nippon so I can have cute Nipponese vampire-chan geishas.
Blake Myers
Eh. Being chink myself, it doesnt bother me. But you have a point that asians being insects as a race has a high chance of not getting through past concept ideas...
Yes, in the early editions and even then "the men of the orient" units were obviously based on Japan rather than China, despite also including Cathay into the blanket term.
>Dogs of war >Base faction lel It'll be Kislev, probably Ogres, and 2 of the chaos gods. Probably Khorne and maybe Slaneesh.
Andrew Nelson
>CA saves their small indie charlemagnes by unironically assetflipping TW:Shogun. >Doesn't matter because cute geishas and advisor-chan
Isaiah Ramirez
Well, the bigger problem is that they're already established to be humies and tangentially mentioned in the lore of several factions even in the modern editions, which also happen to be the last editions. Skaven learned the ninja stuff from them, Ogres got royally fucked up by Cathay emperor, stuff like that.
I think involving a racially discriminatory term would be a bigger problem, imagine if they a race with an african tribal theme to warhammer and they would be monkeys speaking ebonics
Liam Reyes
Well they had pygmies who straight up looked like caricatures.
Carter Foster
I sure wonder why they're not any of the modern games
Nolan James
Idea: They are a bunch of Oni-like people where the higher classes have vibrant skin colors and big horns (hence the Orange emperor), while the commoners and lower classes are mostly human, but may have tiny horns sticking out when your part their hair.
just make a completely different franchise where everyone, including the non-asians, are insects lol
Oliver Price
I wonder why gun toting amazons that reproduce through cocaine aren't in the modern games.
Evan Walker
>Literally just east asia with weird names wow, incredible worldbuilding
Jackson Campbell
Wasn't until third edition that they started trying to flesh out the world at all, first two were just tabletop RPG sandboxes with most generic fantasy factions possible, more of a vague outline that the players are supposed to fill out for their own adventure than a concrete setting.
Works on my machine. I had a map where I was facing down an orc army 3 times my size, but the map put me on a rock outcropping which forced them into 4 different entrances. I blocked off 3 and had a 300 moment and won, it was kino.
Gabriel Johnson
>imagine all those Bretonnia vs Nippon shitposts on who are the better warriors
Isaac Ward
It's not that I can't win - I can win field battles fine but I just don't have the money for a full stack to siege with. The phoenix you start with is a godsend with its fire AOE against the unga bunga orcs but most fights I have to retreat and heal up all the same afterwards because I have a small army.
Are you playing on legendary or something? After kicking off the initial orc armies and telling the pirates to fuck off and fighting them a couple times I was able to build up a strong single army, won a war against my neighbor elves with the help of an ally (some chick I can't remember) and then I confederated her. Is your issue money? Are you building economy structures?
Easton Bell
>taking the yellow meme seriously
Hudson Evans
hard/hard, I'm building economy buildings and all that, but between the two armies and needing to keep one of them at Tor Yvresse it just feels like I get no cash at all. There's no one to easily trade with at the start for Eltharion as well since the border princes are faggots.
in order of how likely they will add them: >Clan Moulder just a DLC with giant rats, mutant rats and similar stuff they are probably working on it as we speak >Kislev Slavs they had a plenty of models as well >reworked Chaos warriors/demons you have 4 Gods and undivided so far we have 1 Slannesh LL and 2 Unidivided LLs so there's plenty to add >Southern realms (Tilea, Estalia, Border Princes) =Dogs of War Most likely would be Empire-lite with pikemen, ogre mercenaries and conquistador aesthetics kinda like Norsca is just Chaos Warriors without the actual Chaos Warriors >Araby/Ind Araby actually got Warmaster model range (really obscure third-scale tabletop that got discontinued decades ago), plenty of war elephants, camels, djinn, flying carpets etc. so sort of generic "Orient" they could be like the magic faction from Rise of Legends or the wizard faction from HoMM 5 >Cathay >Nippon both barely even mentioned >Albion ancient Britain - druids and bog monsters also a standalone faction in Warmaster, like Araby, except nobody cares about them
