A traveling noble could just decide to "honor" your home by stopping to eat at your place. Generally this meant you had to bring out your finest food and potentially sleeping in the stables/outdoor while the noble slept in your bed.

No, they don't. Seppuku was a punishment for particularly egregious crimes. The vast majority of the time it was forcibly done because, understandably, nobody actually wants to disembowel themselves and certainly not someone who was a piece of shit that would commit heinous crimes. The samurai code is a load of fluff. It's like the code of chivalry. Nobody really ever followed it.
