Replaying the ace attorney original trilogy always makes me kind of sad at how the message of the game has been having the complete opposite affect in the real world. The game has always been about believing in the accused and seeing it to the absolute very end that the person is given a fair chance in proving hes innocent until proven guilty. Its a strong message that brings a light on many people who have been falsely accused and how it feels to be alone in their position but sadly this isnt the case anymore in current years. Any twitter bitch nowadays can accuse you for anything and 90% of people will always flock to their side defending them and accusing the other without hearing their side of the story. Even the media always sides with the "victim" without giving it a second thought that they may be accusing someone who is innocent because clicks are more important which destroys the accused lives forever. We really are living in the dystopia that the ace attorney games tried so hard to make people aware of and warn. Its fucking sad bros

its always been like that
real life isnt a videogame

not really man
it's more of a dig at the Japanese justice system
if you want a game that's actually about cancel culture, give tales of crestoria a shot

Pretty much. In America you are now officially able to win court cases on social pressure alone. The judges are too afraid to be lumped in with the nazis/sexists/facists/trumpists/whatever to deliver fair verdict.

We are literally living in a mob-mentality judicial system.

fpbp

It’s literally just a drama game. 2-4 undermines everything you just said. Also Phoenix is extremely quick to judge anyone as guilty so long as they’re not his client

He also goes out of his way to prove that shit's wrong when he can get an easy win instead

Phoenix Wright real life counterpart when? I want something to give us hope.

>destroys the accused lives forever.
Well, no. Not really. If that crowd or those people were so easily swayed, maybe they weren't worth trying to woo in the first place. They just show themselves up as worthless. It's never going to be 100% of all people ever. For example getting cancelled on social media / getting banned from Twitter et al is considered a major punishment - ONLY IF being active on Twitter is a matter of life and death. It really is not. Not even close. There is hopelessness in OP but things are never that bleak.

>black
No surprise.

OP I'm pretty sure the series is based in the very real reality of Japanese courts having a 99% conviction rate.

context for crestoria btw is everyone in the world has a pendant called a vision orb
you can record whatever you want and send it to vision central (huge orbs in the middle of towns)
once "aired," people can pass judgement on you
the problem is that things can be severely taken out of context
if enough people think you're guilty, your vision orb breaks, you're branded with a symbol, and white robed monsters come after you and kill you
spoilers for early game: the MC kills his father, the town leader, for having secretly run an orphanage that was actually for selling kids as slaves or organs
nobody knows this or believes this so everyone thinks his father was a good guy
he's branded guilty

I know someone who grew up with AA and is training to be an attorney at this moment, I can only hope she doesn't crack

Godspeed to her.

Sounds interesting. Too bad it's a fucking mobile game.

Well the Ace Attorney universe is perfectly timed with ours. Welcome to the dark age of the law™, enjoy the ride for a couple of years.

honestly i am furious about it
i haven't enjoyed a tales game this much since vesperia came out (didn't like graces, zestiria was meh and berseria was passable but edgy)
the cast is super likeable and it features protagonists from previous games, but adapted to fit into Crestoria's world
the writing is SO GOOD and deserves an actual game
i don't normally suggest it but you should watch the cutscenes on youtube

Real life mia fey. kino

just another reason why everyone should play this kino series

Sebastian coming back when?

Man OP reminds me of something that happened in my friends Uni.
>be in a packed elevator
>people squished together
>suddenly bitch screams "AAAHHH PERVERT"
>everyone stares at guy closest to her
>guy vehemently denies it, but gets dragged out anyway
>girl screams he's lying and bad touched her
>word spreads fast around Uni campus
>people start to avoid, insult, give him the stinkeye
>later found out in surveillance cam that, no, the guy didnt do shit
>fucking false alarm
>guy's ruined anyway since he'll forever be known as the molester in his social circles

don't know whether the girl did it on purpose or not (last I heard she's didnt regret anything)
but goddamn it

>friend got accused of pedophilia on twitter by a tranny who wants money to transition
>lost his job and everyone online hates him and send him death threats
>only people who know the truth and haven't abandoned him are me and his parents
>will go to court in 2 weeks
You're right OP, it's really looking bad

sorry about that anons

>Athena's inevitable game will deal with the internet during her cases
Do you think they could pull it off?

Fuck you!

Based. Mia is a better Lawyer than Phoenix anyways

October 2026 cannot come soon enough. I need the shitposting

Mia is one of the most based women ever in fiction. Instead of siding with some girl cause she was a victim of her "boyfriend", she saw straight past her and called her out for the thot she was. She even sent the thot straight to hell at the end of the game just for shit talking her. Based as fuck and also hot as fuck

Based, Mia fucking rocks.

As a lawyer I really don't see where you're coming from with any of this.

>Allowed people unchecked freedom of speech
>Surprised when idiots abuse this to its full extent

Ex Lege Libertas

We truly live in the Dark Age of the Law

Bad cops literally kept getting away.

After that how many years of hiatus? 5?

Athena's mom trial is in october, Zig Forumsros

Yeah of course, but also with how it treats and humanizes defendants it is also making a statement about innocent until proven guilty

Don't go too far in that direction or you'll be sending serial killers love letters about how they're just misunderstood.

The case where Blackquill gets put away?

No it's only been 3 years of hiatus. DGS 2 came out in japan in 2017.

The series is probably going to be on hiatus for a while, because since the game can no longer be built on the 3DS as the system is dead, and the lead writer of the past 2 AA games has left.

It's not dead though. AA is one of the few series that Capcom sees as selling satisfactory. We'll get an AA& sooner or later

>AA on Switch
>Can object again, with joycons
I can't fucking wait.

>That Strawman
Are you fucking dumb?

God damn, I need an archive of these threads.
