This game is amazing.
This game is amazing
Amazingly terrible. Haha, zing!
No honestly I fucking hate this game
It's ok
>Hmm... how do we make a successful Star Fox game. Do we make a game that takes the things people loved from the most successful Star Fox games and put it into a new narrative in order to entice new and old players?
>Nah just remake 64 again and add gimmicky shit
It’s like Miyamoto wants this series to fail.
No fuck you, an extension of SF64 is all I’ve wanted since the 90s. I dunno why they’re fucking incapable of just doing that again with new content.
You can't blame him for anything other than loving Star Fox way more than any of you posers.
it's painfully mediocre and gets demolished by sin and punishment 2 and kid icarus uprising
It's okay, but it easily could have been better.
It is
It needs a switch port with traditional controls and multiplayer but instead Nintendo just wants this series to stay mediocre.
>and gets demolished by sin and punishment 2 and kid icarus uprising
That can apply to every star fox game. Those 2 are among the apex of that genre of gaming.
I liked it but you could tell they didn't really care about giving it the amount of content and polish it should've had due to being a 2016 Wii U game.
Yeah. If it came out on the wii u earlier on or the switch it likely would have gotten more content and support via updates and possibly DLC.
Agreed. My only problem was it being too short and it being as good as unplayable when you only use the gamepad screen.
I didn't even mind the motion controls.
>Dinosaur Planet gets ruined by Miyamoto going autistic over there already being a male fox character in Nintendo, so Rare is forced to waste time turning a potentially decent adventure game with no IP into a weird, sub-par Starfox game
>Assault, cheesy as the cutscenes get, actually tries to return to the formula of the original two games and finally creates a more accurate sequel to the story which is fun. But fans whine because it doesn't play exactly like 64 and is more linear
>Command happens and the gameplay is weird and off putting. Fans start throwing entitled tantrums over Starfox 64 because the gameplay still is even less 1:1 than Assault was
>"Fine" says Shiggy. "You want 64 again, you get it!"
>slaps it on Wii Virtual console
>releases it on the 3DS with a new coat of paint
>releases it on the Wii U with a new coat of paint
>releases the unfinished Starfox 2 just because it was already leaked so many times over by this point
>will inevitably release Starfox 64 again on the Switch as Star Fox Remake
>Star Fox 64 forever. Star Fox 64 forever. No new stories. Nowhere to go. Just the same game forever and ever and ever and ever and
S&P is such a crazily niche series thanks to the first western release being by the Wii Virtual Console of all things. But I'm stunned that KI:Uprising has never seen a port or sequel yet. It seemed to be getting pushed really hard when Smash 4 was out thanks to Sakurai so heavily promoting his other baby.
I don't get why they just didn't ask retro studios to reinvent the series like they did with metroid and dk
retro's level design and mastery of setpieces is a perfect fit for star fox
>Zero is 64
No it fucking isn't.
Panzer dragoon and rez did it better
amazingly shit. first video game I've ever seen that put the score it deserves in the title
this is the single worst game in the StarFox franchise and definitely in the bottom 15 games Nintendo has ever developed and released.
>Rail shooter with occasional arena is a “movie.”
Wat?
If Zero was 64 again then it would have had fucking good controls and levels without shitty gimmicks.
>Sin and Punishment 2
the single best Wii game. If not for that abominable side scrolling level where the enemies have way too much HP I'd consider it universally better than StarFox. The ocean tunnel level is the peak of the entire on rails shooter genre. still, that one bad level makes it a more flawed experience than SF64, also SF64's multiple routes gives it more replay value.
Kid Icarus Uprising sucks. the on rails segments play like passable StarFox at best and the ground gameplay is awful.
Dat hyperbole
It's better than Pikmin 2 and F-Zero GX for sure.
does zero emulate well? looks ok without shitty controls
I want a direct sequel to Assault
They can't even rehash 64 right. people say they're trying to milk nostalgia but the new Starfox games are even bad at that
Zero reuses a bunch of the boss designs from 64 but doesn't reuse the actual character. The Luigi hat train conductor guy who we all know as a DANG, DEE-TACH THE REAR VEE-HICKLE country man is now some prissy whiny British faggot? Why reuse his memorable design if you're going to change his voice and personality entirely?
Why bother bringing Bill back if he's not a California surfer bro stereotype? Why is Wolf a Texas cowboy and not a cocky elitist brit? Why did Leon go from being glorious to a screechy annoying faggot retard? Why does this franchise not give a single fuck about its characters? And fuck Assault for being the game that codified these changes, especially to Star Wolf.
there IS no Zero without shitty controls, user. they're hard coded into the very design of the game. it would take some sort of insane overhaul mod to take them out and nobody cares enough about this kusoge to make it.
I hate to meme it, but it really is the characterization. SF64 has all these one-off bosses that are all incredibly memorable. Any boss that actually speaks is fantastic and I think anyone who has played SF64 even a few times has their voice lines burned into their head.
>DANG IT, DEE-TATCH THE REAR VE-HICK-LE
>DON'T PAHTY JUST YET!
>DESTROY! DESTROY! I WILL TERMINATE ALL ENEMIES!
>FIRE! FIRE! DON'T LET 'EM THROUGH!
YOU'RE amazing, user
>Kid Icarus Uprising sucks. the on rails segments play like passable StarFox at best and the ground gameplay is awful.
t. filtered fatso
I love S&P so much. My favorite rail shooter game.
It's not
But Star Fox Guard certainly is.
I agree.
Because of "Miyamoto" star fox adventures sold more than dinosaur planet would have had on its own
I thought it was meh at best. It mostly just a worse version of 64 with stuff from the SNES Star Fox games added in like Chicken Walker Mode from SF2. Even the new stuff added in Zero was underwhelming or 100% trash.
It's a shame because it looks fun as fuck.
Things that nobody has ever said about Star Fox Zero.
You already got one
>levels without shitty gimmicks
what is Aquas?
I just want a new Starfox game that doesn’t play like shit
How hard is it to just make a rail shooter?
>F-Zero GX
Now this is some heavy bait
I don't think the rail shooting part of star fox zero were bad. When it goes to all range mode that's when the worst aspects of the game shine through
