WoW Classic

What went wrong?

Blizzard got too greedy. Instead of risking by improving outdated game they released it as it is and painted it as "listening to feedback".

nostalgia fags were wrong classic is dogshit

Vanilla WoW wasn't anything special but is it really necessary to have this thread daily since September 2019

Modern game design x 2019 internet community x nostalgia
What could go right faggot

sold out to the chinks.

also the community is full of assholes, more so than most other games. It's nothing like 2004

Having a good time in Shadowbringers tbqh
Just finished the msq

Minmaxers

I'm coming back to classic after being away for 9 months, how's the Sulfuras server? I already have a level 30 undead mage on it and figured I should just continue with him.

People forgot that the one aspect most people looked fondly on was the community and internet culture at the time, which you can't revert back to.

Still had more fun than any mmo in a long time. I dunno, MMO seems to be a solved genre so people aren't as motivated as they did during the late 90's, early 2000s

kek Zig Forums was foaming back then before classic released about how it would be different but now that it's the same you guys changed tune.

Literally YOU THINK YOU DO BUT YOU DON'T

thinking a game is a task to be solved and not a experience to be had

Nothing. Endgame is for people with mental problems in the first place.

It sucked the retail playerbase into a game not designed to handle that kind of autism and made it fucking miserable. And delaying PVP/BGs was a fucking mistake, Private Servers have known that that's a completely retarded idea for years yet Blizzard did it anyway.

Also coded like shit. Major class bugs have existed throughout the entire beta up to today and layering was an absolute mess that didn't work even remotely the way they described it.

How is it Jeff Kaplan and Alex Afrasiabi were both toxic pieces of shit back in the day and ended up getting a job at Blizzard, and somehow have avoided getting canceled? Kaplan constantly called Everquest devs retards, Afrasiabi constantly made sexist remarks, and yet now they promote safe spaces at Blizzard, going so far as to censor fucking "GG EZ" in Overwatch. Why haven't the trannies at Resetera dug up their past dirt and canceled these faggots yet?

>Hit 60
>Oh boy, now that I'm 60 I can start doing ZG and dungeons to get my pre-raid BiS
>LFM ZG/UBRS ANYTHING REMOTELY USEFUL ON RESERVE

>Legion client
>Censorship
>Layering
>Streamers
>Min-maxing private server autismos
>In-game report function
>Chinese botters and gold farmers
>Server transfers
>1.12 game balance the entire time
I unironically want private servers back, fuck Classic and fuck Blizzard.

Oh no, one item is on reserve! How will I ever recover from this? It's the only ZG pug on the server surely! Waaaaaaah

Vanilla was always garbage, the fact that is was new, most people's first MMO and the community made up of just as many likeminded people bumbling through it together and helping each other covered up the fact that game at its core is actually shit.

everyone realized they actually wanted to play TBC / WoTLK and not vanilla

Resetera retards can't be bothered to dig that far back or do that much research for two guys that haven't been in the spotlight all that much since the late 2000s.
Hell, I almost doubt that they even know what Everquest was.

I'm glad Classic finally opened people's eyes to the true scum of the game that is Mage players. Those faggots have gone far too long without getting the shit they deserve.

But it is unironically what fans were screeching for for years. They didn't want ANY changes. Blizz was giving fans what they wanted.

Literally all you have to do is combine the best parts of classic and retail and you'd have a great game, but that would basically end up being WoW 2. I was never on the classic bandwagon who wanted to replay the "authentic experience." Fuck that, I already did that 15 years ago. I would be much more interested in a revitalized game, like a reboot or something.

That and the massive production cost for MMOs + risk factor it doesn't take off

You know that the fans who wanted that are still playing the game, right? It's all the hypefags who got pulled in that are now crying "i thought i did but i didn't".

WoW isn't played by normal people like it was in 2005, it's degenerate spreadsheeters that struggle to interact with other people

People went back expecting to have fun and make friends and encountered these people instead

I think you are misremembering buddy. The people who played WoW in the early days certainly weren't normies. It's filled with way more normies today.

>phase 6 librams come out in phase 5
>lmao no changes!!!! But this isnt bad, thanks blizzard!

They released the game with later balance patches instead of a true vanillla experience

For me personally I didn't play during peak, I started when tbc was 6 months or so away. So for me I always viewed the classic content as the leveling content to get to the tbc content. And desu I got that. I leveled a shadow priest which I never made during that era. It was fu, nostalgic I even raised a bit but the raiding was never it for me. It was all about the leveling. And without the tbc content I didn't feel like doing it a second time. As I wanted be and draenei. So I quit. It was what I wanted. I got what I needed, it was nice for a while to have something to do.

But as many pointed out, it wasn't the same Cuz I either knew shit or had the internet
