Also they're "revisiting" a game 2 race, I can't think of any that really need re-working or updating...maybe adding Moulder to Skaven with Skrot FLC?

Norsca really isn't that bad, Beastmen, Chaos and Welfs need it much more. Chaos is obviously gonna be game 3 rework, they MIGHT squeeze a beastmen update into the last major DLC of this game though.

That being said, for the love of GOD don't put them in fucking Lustria. Vortex stick them in North West Naggarond or the chaos wastes. Southlands and Lustria are both absolute shitshows

Norsca "isn't really that bad" when it comes to faction mechanics (they are simply outdated, like Empire pre-rework, as opposed to Beastmen/WE/Chaos) but they are starved for content.

More LLs, more units, more monster hunts.

Based. What should be the next rework besides Chaos/Beastmen? With this update they will have pretty much covered all races that needed a serious overhaul.

Usually the fix is free, but if you want the new units and lords you buy the dlc

But the fix is meaningless since the faction it fixes is unplayable if you don't already have the WE DLC. So it is DLC for DLC

Just pirated this, haven't played any TW game aside from Shogun for like 2 hours. What can I expect? I like stuff like EU4 and Civ.

They're obviously revisiting LM since they're the only ones that got nothing so far. Rats got the under empire, Druchii got reworked arks and Helves got....kinda shafted. But yeah it's lizards.

80% of your time will be spent on the campaign map managing your settlements — read the building chains and the tooltips to figure out what everything does, a lot of buildings are interconnected, and managing values like public order & corruption are crucial
20% of your time will be spent in-battle and you need to understand how to form a basic spear line, rear rank of ranged units, and flanking detachments of high-attack/AP units (preferably with high mobility such as cavalry or light armor/fat units). Start with hammer & anvil with rear archers/artillery before you go trying to figure out how to checkerboard a firing line of gunners. Your primary goal should be getting comfortable with giving orders in real-time without relying on pause every 5 seconds.

It's not really comparable to EU4/Civ other than also having strategy elements. If you're pirating, I assume you got both games for Mortal Empires + all DLC. ME is the definitive experience, don't bother with Vortex campaigns. You're gonna get your ass beat a lot while you're learning, but if you come from EU4/Civ you're probably used to that. Enjoy the intense real-time battles, they're the highlight of the game. Good starting factions are High Elves, Lizardmen, Dwarfs and Empire. They do standard map painting shit and have pretty straight-forward playstyles.
This announcement pretty much confirms that Beastmen/WoC won't be getting overhauls until TWWH3.

Eshin isn't that old, Dark Elves just got shit, High Elves got shit, so it leaves Lizardmen. I think redoing the mechanics of the campaign is where "revisiting" lies. The geomantric web is fucking awful, and that is all they have really

Nakai sucks big time and is probably an easier fix than most of their other options. I'm guessing they're saving the more extensive overhauls for the final game.

Empire can be pretty brutal for a beginner now with the secession/fealty mechanics, but dinospam won’t teach a newbie the basics well enough due to the high reliance on monsters and complete lack of ranged.

There's nothing wrong with beastmemes. A buffed minotaur doomstack can steamroll three late-game Empire AI doomstacks at the same time all while being fun to use manually if you chose not to auto-resolve. What more could you ask for.

Nakai's problems are baseline horde mechanic problems. A complete rework of the system can't be done as a one-off Lizardmen update/DLC.

Well he can be fixed. Make his vassal a non-entity with regards to diplomacy, change the whole garbage tribute system into something else etc. There are ways to fix him and make him interesting without having to go all the way.

Dawi are literally baby's first faction. Just stick them in a box with 4 grudgethrowers and watch the kills pile up.

Oh I remember that mod, nice. If I were you I would just give people the ability to work on them since you don't want to any longer. Chances are others will pick up where you left off and then you won't have to worry about it and people won't lose out on the mods.

Yeah, I guess I should add notices saying they are outdated and anyone is welcome to them. I got a lot of pms about people wanting to update them/copy them and I always said yes, mods are mods and everyone should be allowed to cpy and reproduce anyone's work freely, so not sure which have already been redone.

When I bought into WH2 I did it by looking at every army roster and lord on the wiki one by one, and I bought the wood elves because their roster is so great, only to discover that they are broken beyond being usable in campaign. Everyone always said they'd never get fixed as well because they won't do DLC for a DLC race. I am so hype for this.

Curios to see how well it sells since by the info they have given out if you just buy the new DLC without owning the wood elves you will only have access to 1 LL and ONLY in the Vortex campaign which overall doesn't seem like a great deal.

I think if they actually manage to fix these races, it will drive sales for the old DLC as well because people will try them in vortex and then want to play them in ME.
