>How much is X + X
>"uhm... 2X"
>LOL NO ITS ACTUALLY Y BECAUSE 'Some shitty excuse that actually makes sense'

I hate that.

Bros... the nostalgia just hit hard

Absolutely. The brain teasers are good and the presentation is leagues better than a collection of brain teasers has any right to have. Very fun.

If you can solve this puzzle without any outside help then Layton is for you.

This puzzle was bullshit but it was so good to get it right.

The first 4 Layton games are great, def recommend them

no, fuck you

guckyou

I was considering buying the Layton games to add to my DS collection, cmbut I can't solve this.

BUCÑTOU?

>tfw no technophile gf
The trick is to do with the key's position on a keyboard, right?

Did americans really?....

Here's some hints
Hint 1:
The answer may not be obvious at first.

Hint 2:
Try thinking about the question carefully.
Hint 3:
Try reading the question again.

Yes.

They are great, and I recommend starting to one and progress to enjoy the QoL changes they make. Although some puzzles are bullshit, but that's to be expected when there's so many.

I was completely blocked for a few hours in one puzzle where the solution was to put two plugs into an old man's nose.

>Just solved it
TOP KEK I LAUGHED

If you like silly stories with extremely ridiculous plot twists, you'll love that part of the games. If you don't mind that some puzzles have stupid gotcha moments you'll probably enjoy most of them too. It's not like you need to clear all of them, just a certain amount + story-specific ones.

not really, they are extremely shitty designed.

i'm not talkinga about the puzzles, i'm talking about the fact that you get punished if you don't guess the answer on the first try. i played through the whole game by guessing the solution, then checking the answers on a guide, and then inputting the correct one in-game to get the best ending or whatever

or maybe i'm just autistic

>comfy
not only do the stories get surprisingly depressing but the puzzles will have you doing internet detective work to find out where the people who designed them live so you can hurt their family
these games are anti-comfy

You should be able to solve this one.

based

You really only lose the picarats which only matter for a "100%" run. Keep in mind in the first game they hide picarats in specific spots of the map during specific story sections so if you're not following a guide you won't be able to 100% it if you did every riddle on the first try anyway.

Fuck you Layton.

I never looked anything up and I always had enough picarats for all the bonus rooms. I guess it is a little lame that some bonus stuff is missable if you screw up too much, but them's the ropes. One thing that I do think sucks that is related to that is that hint coin hints are often either too little (stuff you'd have figured out before you decided to spend a coin) or too big (gives away the answer)

The first three and the Ace Attorney spinoff are great, with a rapid decline in quality in the prequel trilogy.
