1. Make sure you're playing with the Japanese audio: English VA is bad. Both 2B and 9S sound completely different in Japanese to the point where it effects their characters.
2. You have to play through the first story arc twice: first as 2B, then as 9S (9S gets additional story cutscenes and can open locked chests and areas you previously couldn't access). The story continues further after you beat the main story arc with 9S.
Basically, if you're playing with Jap audio and get to part 3 and aren't invested by that point, it might not be for you: but you will probably see what makes this game tick in the course of the first playthough.

A very simple but easily recognizable and visually appealing design. Japanese artists (especially the FF ones) often make their designs overly complicated and silly looking but 2B is a great example of a great design.
I've seen normies on FB and foreignors who absolutely love 2B despite not knowing wtf she's from (most think an anime). Honestly, if you can even get the normies on board that means your design is kino af as it's passed the niche audience and somehow gotten wide appeal without sacrificing anything (like making them a token minority character, disability, or some other stupid shit like we see nowadays).

MH:W is a next gen Monster Hunter game, which means grinding for cool gear and fighting big monsters.
Nier: Automata is at its core 3D Zelda type adventure game, with a unique style.
Both are valid choices. I prefer Automata.

Its good. I wish there was more enemy variety to give you a reason to dig into your movesets but its pretty solid.
Just remember the "endings" are just chapter ends or non standard game overs so if you get ending a you're not even close to being done.
