The backrooms remind me of this time when I got lost in JC Penny and I ended up in this weird hallway that seemingly led to nothing. It started at the dressing rooms and went on for maybe 20 feet and ended. I dont remember a single door in that hallway. It had that same fluorescent buzz, same yellow color, same damp smell.

in a capitalist society buildings and products have been designed to provide an illusion to the consoomer, whether it was an illusion of satiety, fun or satisfaction. when these things are abandoned the illusion breaks, it's not a sears store any more, it's a weirdly built interior with ugly colors.
