>7.65 mil GSP >far beyond elite smash threshold >join game >zelda player >nintendogs stage >hazards on >items >2:30 >leave game >banned for 30 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior
I only leave games when shit like this happens, and I guess it happens enough that I'm starting to get cooldowns for it
>like melee for wavedashing, edgecancels, and all the other cool advanced techniques >hate l-canceling tedium, the shitty balance, and how small the roster is compared to ult I will never be satisfied
Jaxon Garcia
dilate, meleetranny
Jaxon Baker
You’ll be Zero to Hero once you stop touching children Mr.pedo when that day comes i’ll never stop posting Laverne guess that will never will take a long time huh? Post Laverne.
>meleecels keep invading ultimate threads with shitposts because no melee thread that isnt just bait, would survive for more than 5 minutes on its own seething
I seriously can't believe how ridiculously shitty the online is for Ultimate. It's worse than 4, by a lot. The only advantage Ultimate has is lobbies, which are only okay and have lots of problems themselves. Where the fuck are connection indicators? Why can't there be REQURIED rules and not just preferred ones? They didn't give a shit at all.
Colton Jones
This.
But desu, GSP is fun for a quick match or two. I probably have about a 1000 hours with it.
Ethan Martin
A casual match with a Zelda player would not have killed you.
>They didn't give a shit at all. They never gave a shit user.
You people never listened when they repeatedly told you that Smash isnt made for competitive play, and just meant as a fun casual fighter. As long as you don't realise this, and that it is themain reason for the lack of competitive features, you will always be disappointed.
Why do you think the most tryhard fags stick to Melee, the most barren and barebones Smash to play? Because due to games being simpler back then, it has the best requirements for """"""""""competitive"""""""""" play.
Sebastian Miller
>2:30 Imagine being so fucking obsessed about trying to force ranked into a party game that less than 5 minutes of casual play makes you seethe this hard
Leo Ramirez
Elite smash is only the most annoying matchups. 95% of all my Elite Smash games are >Link >Ness >Samus >Zelda >ROB >Wii Fit >Pokemon Trainer >Joker It's literally a showcase of all the shittiest and most unfun matchups the game has to offer. It's essentially "play ring around the rosie chasing them from edge to edge for 7 minutes". And this is towards the very top of the GSP ladder. I think it's about 10k from the peak on my Captain Falcon. It never gets better as you go up.
Luke Collins
Except, the online isn't even fun for casual gaming. In fact, its even WORSE. The game is bad enough for one on one but for a four player free for all it's unplayable.
Tyler Barnes
Quickplay is cancer. I just play in Arenas all the time.
>be DK >opponent is Palutena >it's a large map >they spam ranged moves then run past me to the other end of the map >rinse repeat >can't even spike them because stage has water >they tea bag >fuck it >SD >GSP lost
>be Captain Falcon >opponent is mii gunner >stage has a ledge you can't fall through >they just sit under it and spam both sides >can't even approach >lose >GSP lost
>You people never listened when they repeatedly told you that Smash isnt made for competitive play Just because they are fucking horrible at capturing what made melee fun casually AND competitively it doesn't mean they aren't trying.
>Unveil the game with an invitational tournament featuring almost exclusively melee personalities, most of which dropped the game when it's bad qualities outshined the good >Add more competitive options like removing stage hazards and battlefield forms >Add SF-esque parries and super gauges that the latter nobody uses because they're poorly designed >Add an actual ranked system that makes no fucking sense and lets players force their own retarded rules into the system to give their character/playstyle an edge >Went into this game thinking melee players would see the "speed" and "competitive changes" and rally behind a unified smash game so they can completely control the es-ports scene, which never happened
Parker Brown
>7.65 mil >far beyond elite Smash threshold Try to be in 7.75 mil, only then can you complain.
Lincoln Wood
People stick with melee because the combination of the intentional and unintentional design choices gives you way more movement options and nuance than other smash games, its pretty much a different game, mistakes in neutral at any % can lead to a stock since hitstun allows for more things to combo, getting knocked offstage puts the offstage player at extreme risk since ledgehogging exists. If Smash didn't get toned down to the extent that was left at brawl onwards then meleefags would've stuck around, the game shifted to be much more forgiving in terms of recovering, hitstun got shortened so sdi doesn't matter as much and less moves combo, etc. Also Brawl is arguably even less balanced than melee
Zachary Robinson
>Pokemon Trainer >bad
I wish I get Pokemon Trainers, all I get in my area are Zeldas, Banjos, Samuses, and memey Falcons since the last patch.
Luke Myers
lol at everyone that talks up Arenas.
Don't get me wrong, Elite is an absolute shithole but searching for an arena, then most having 3+ people already in it. This blows my mind. I want to play. Like, back to back games.
So you finally find one that's just supposed to be grinding and fun, but you either run into a laggy ass Samus or they kick you after two games for being too good or too bad, or they just don't like you and ragequit.
Arenas are an absolute meme. Anthers tier.
Isaac Wood
>not hosting his own arena you are just asking for suffering
Jonathan Lewis
Pokemon trainer is degenerate bullshit, not fun to fight at all. They just fish for the same memeshit over and over.
Jack Jenkins
>Like, back to back games. this happens if you win user.
Robert Jackson
The only reason people are kicking you is because you are laggy or you are fucking lame lol.
Hudson Reed
>host has it set to winner leaves Why do people do this?
am I the only fag that like to experiment with spirits in arena with other people
Isaac Peterson
To keep it fresh. I'm fine with winner leaves after X wins. Sometimes I join an Arena and start smoking everyone, which is fun for me since I get to practice punish game with the human factor but it's probably not fun for everyone else. So it's good to rotate it out every now and then. Otherwise it gets stale.
