Horror games never scared me when I was a kid. Fatal Frame was kinda spoopy I guess. However, I played minecraft for the first time a couple years ago, single player. I get a weird sense of dread when I go to The End and also Endermen are just creepy enough.

Back in 2013 I user to consistenly play Minecraft with friends and once spawned him on our server using some NPC plugin thing and didn't bother to delete him, he was just statically standing on a hill not far from spawn
A long time passed and we decided to do a wipe and create a new world
I deleted the folder of an old world, generated a new one and got into the server
Turns out that plugin data is stored in a different folder and is not tied to a specific world

Shit scarred me for days

There's definitely some existential bullshit going on within minecraft. Survival games always have you meet other people but minecraft is just creepy, you're literally the only person like you, "normal people" are the villagers so technically you're alone, all entirely alone.
