Does anyone lack the desire to play anything on here because of the thought that once Switch online servers shut down then you've lost all your progress and ability to play these again?

No. I have no desire to play anything anymore. Not sure what killed it but it happened within the last year or so

SNES games are not even long, why would you care about keeping your saves?

No, but the thought has crossed my mind. Thankfully once it does get shut down I'll still have my modded Wii to play them. I'm just glad I have a backup.

Maybe he's specifically referring to RPGs?

I have my original carts, my Wii VC version, Wii U VC, SNES mini, and all other emulated versions to play. Why would I bother with intangible versions?

Is there anything to do after you finish them? I never understood crying about lost save states unless there's multiplayer unlocks, but SNES doesn't have that.

Fighting the final boss again. I usually like the freedom of being able to go back and fight him when I want.

The problem is that there's this thing called emulation. And its got a way better library of games than what they're offering.

Can't say I have that problem. Most of the stuff on there that I want to play is stuff I've already beaten and want to play again, or games that are good to just start up from scratch and play through in a sitting or two. I think the longest/largest game is LttP, and even that's not huge by modern standards. They'll be there for at least 3 more years, maybe as much as 10 years if the service carries forward to the next console, so just play something and quit worrying about it.
If you wanted to preserve your save file in perpetuity, get a Mini, or collect the original cartridges.

I don't want to say autism, but I can't find any other reason why would you do that after several years.

>Enjoying fighting a boss is autism
God this is such a shit board. You people seriously need to be dragged into the street.

I like to replay boss fights, but I'd just as soon play the game again to get to the boss.
But I don't waste my life on RPGs. The genre really only appeals to autists. So yeah, it's probably autism.

I just like fighting bosses. Hard concept for Zig Forumsirgins to grasp, but you can in fact enjoy things and not have a mental illness, or be a soiboy, or whatever other buzzword anons use nowadays.

No I have no desire to play because I’ve played all of these games 100 times over the last 25 years

The fun thing is, nintendo won't even have the foresight to move and expand on the switch online for the next system, they'll start over with the basic NES shit and you won't be able transfer any snes/nes online save data.

They’ll implement a virtual console including GCN the last year of its lifespan and won’t allow any purchases to carry over to the new console

>You can enjoy things without being a buzzword
Sure you can. Unless it's turn-based combat that consists entirely of browsing menus and pretending that you're doing anything more than just pressing A to advance a text box. That's not a videogame, it's a job.

I'm buying a NES and SNES off of Ebay so I can play these games. Also an N64.

>not having a hard drive with every nes, snes, 64, gbc, gba, gc and wii rom ever released for emulation and game preservation
Imagine being this retarded

You are so worried about a future that will take at least five years to come that you can’t enjoy the present? What the fuck, man?

What RPGs are even on switch online?

>bought a SNES Classic for about $50 last year + $10 Wireless adapter
>installed 700+ games from NES to PS1 era
>mfw permanently hacked system with everything I wanted and no online bullshit

no wonder why they discontinued this shit

>You can purchase them again, at a reduced price!

what a deal!

Yes because its in my home menu.

Playing Donkey Kong Country right now and its as good as I remember.
> once Switch online servers shut down then you've lost all your progress and ability to play these again?
>progress
>SNES games
O no. not the couple of hours these games have in them!
Have you ever heard of emulators??
The ability to play these games whenever you want has been around for decades you absolute retard.

The only reason we play the stuff on switch is because
>it comes with online
>its comfy playing in bed after a session of a switch game

I got one of these too. It's actually incredible, you can even get some arcade games running on it.

Pretty much this. For the emulation quality alone, I think it's worth it. Your other alternatives is either a Wii U or 3DS.

question- how old are you? 23 now, i lost it around 19-20. I still play vidya every day but i cant get into shit like i used to. probably because I know video games are a dead end

Breath of Fire 1 and 2

Do people really care about their saves after they already beat a game?

Depends on the game. I like having my save in Fire Emblem Awakening after beating it for example. It was fun to dick around with after beating it with friends to see who could create the most asshole streetpass team.
