Destiny 2

Spiderman PS4

xcom chimera squad. the actual gameplat is really cool and it's a good game but the dialogue is so ridiculously terrible you'd think it had to have been done on purpose. plus the artstyle/character designs are kinda bad. really fun game though, got it for $10. One of the lines is about the indian guy cooking curry for everyone. Another time after the mayor gets assassinated by terrorists someone makes a quirky quip about it in what felt like a serious moment, totally out of place. Just fucking terrible dialogue throughout

Every Sonic game post Colors

The whole borderlands series and spin offs

Divinity original sin 2

Persona games

the "haha..." man

Kingdom Hearts.
Literally no other game can compete.

Kingdom Hearts

I thought Dungeons 3 had cringe dialog but it grew on me over time.

Let me just swooce right in there

Literally in Eastern game with a script

What games let your dad come home drunk and horny and youre the first one he sees?

The first borderlands was RELATIVELY down to earth considering the setting.
BL2 cranked it from 4 to 15

I keep trying to think of any, but instead I think of normal dialogue, but automatically add "XDDDD" at the end to make it instantly cringe

Life is Strange

>Dutch, I dunno about this one....
>I HAVE A PLAN, ARTHUR
>I dunno, last one we barely escaped Dutch....
>So?
>Okay I'll do it

Repeated 4 million kabillion jabillion times.

Borderlands 3 went from 15 to 37

As far as I'm concerned, all dialogue is cringe dialogue.

JRPGs with English dub/localization.

Xenoblade 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Probably the worst offender since PS1 days.

Tales of (anything)

its really hard to push through unless your a teenager

Your existence

IDK why people play cringey-ass games unironically but this shit is injected into even good games with M ratings. It just makes my hobby feel even more like its designed for children. I don't even like Japanese games and the few I do play still have this shit.

Fire Emblem comes to mind. Three Houses was really terrible with its paper-thin political drama. Doesn't help that most of the characters are just one tiny step above being complete tropes. It's easily one step away from power of friendship, all they need is to kill God. I guess the main difference is that even though I thought it was super shallow, I still really enjoyed the simplicity of it and the gameplay was fun even though it's less of a tactics game and more a turn-based RPG on a grid.

Name 3 T-rated games or higher that does this.

Mass Effect 2 generally had good dialogue. You're exaggerating.

overwatch

Freedom Planet. Shit feels like it was written by a 13 year old girl.
At least they were merciful enough to have a mode what lets you play without cutscenes.

>Zone of the Enders 1
Nothing can top this, I ended up just skipping cutscenes to spare my sanity

>its really hard to push through unless your a teenager
I feel like this is generally a problem with JRPGs as you get older. They're 100% aimed at teens.

The more grounded ones like CT or Suikoden hold up. Either due to the simplicity of retro games, or because they had a differenet character focus in case of the latter.
But the ones that actually go all out with their characters and include lots of dialogue and slice of life, just don't hold up.

Even as a teenager I had to drop that Tales of on PSP because the sidekick from your village was way too cringy and annoying. I couldn't deal with the shitty dialogue at all.

DMC and Kingdom Hearts, but its soulful cringe.

OW isn't exactly cringe. Its just bland to the point of boring to avoid offending anyone.
Arguably worse, at least cringe occasionally have meme value.
I played OW for 3 years and looking back at it now, I can't remember a single line any of the characters spoke.

I agree but honestly, only the dubbed ones. There's a lot of stuff that is like "sounds ok when reading but awful when hearing it" going on with a lot of JRPGs.

Skyrim had some bad ones. I cringed pretty hard when that one Nord guy said "Dunmer bitch" in the Thieves Guild questline. Sounded so fucking out of place in an Elder Scrolls game. Then there was that guy that literally said "go on a fetch quest for me" and then said "well by fetch I mean go into a dangerous dungeon and find something that may or may not be there," like I fucking get it Bethesda you're ashamed you're literally just calling them fetch quests at this point and you try to make them sound cooler than they are. Also fuck the stupid writing cliche where you have your character say "get to the point" and the NPC responds "straight to the point? I like that," like wow hes so fucking cool oh wait every fucking NPC says that shit because the writers have no creativity or original thought

>where are you going?
>to WAR
I will never understand why people like Halo 2

Xenoblade 2

Understandable, i feel the same to many games that do similar stuff, it's like how 4th wall breaking is absurdly annoying at this point, not even just "cringe" but downright disgusting and cheap. There was a time that being irreverent was unique and rare, but it just doesn't work anymore.

posting kino moment to offset the cringe I see

WAIT MAH ASS

legitimately kingdom hearts

Borderlands

of course.

All of them. If your have has dialogue at all it doesn't deserve to be played.

It is an incredibly hard pill for me to swallow personally. I grew up loving these titles, glued to the CRT. It really was a different time. I can't re-emulate it. I suppose that's where the term "Rose-tinted goggles" was coined. I miss it.

I remember one time my friend who was a little impoverished came over to my house and we hammered out Majoras Mask when it was released. His socks started smelling toxic, I had to actually offer the shower and another set of clothes just so get could get through the game.

He contacted me on facebook recently and was very resentful
