Skryim.
Gothic 2
Rain World for unrestricted freedom, INFRA for neat linear adventure.
Rain World bar none.
There is no better, prove me wrong if you can.
I'll mention Environmental Station Alpha and La-Mulana.
Underrail is unironically good for that.
been living under a rock and never heard of rain world. that splash art makes me think it's just gonna be another pixelart indie shitter with soothing ori and the blind forest styled piano/pipe music, though.
>that splash art makes me think it's just gonna be another pixelart indie shitter with soothing ori and the blind forest styled piano/pipe music, though.
You are so wrong that it couldn't be theoretically possible to even be so wrong. Splash art is literally bait.

I've played Rain World for a few hours. It basically felt like a metroidvania without any movement upgrade. What killed it for me is that you lose levels when you die, and levels literally do nothing other than serve as a requirement to get to certain areas. So it becomes a pointless grind to get these levels back for each death.
>So it becomes a pointless grind
It's insentive to SURVIVE no matter what, and that's kinda the point of the game.
The compass and minimap indicators were very invasive it's true but once I deactivated them I had a blast exploring the world. You stumble very naturally on places of interests and can find your way around just by reading the quests (most of the time). It was a really great map.
Rain World is not a metroidvania, never advertised as one. It's a survival game in a hostile "living" ecosystem, you're not supposed to progress by brute forcing, hence the restrictions.
The pointless grind as you put it is the game, surviving.
The point is to be able to live and not die in an area. It's not a Metroidvania.
RDR 2
I ran through the story in 10 hours and then explored in singleplayer for 200+
>R*ddit Knight.
No.
“Exploration based” means you suck at videogames and can only handle walking simulators like Gone Hone, Super Metroid, etc.
Imagine being memed out off one of the best games in this decade, arguably even it's entire genre.
>arguably even it's entire genre
Hardly an accomplishment
That’s like saying a game is great because it’s the best MOBA
ok tranny
Clearly FPBP
>you're wrong because i'm an autist
Lot's of shills for this random game, odd.
Maybe I am.

>Being the best option of an established and liked genre is hardly an accomplishment
Certainly not hollow knight, aside from a couple of branching paths that shit is as linear as dark souls 3.
rain world gets talked about a lot here because it's really good faggot. i bet you never call anyone talking about AAA games a shill
Ghost of Tsushima is breddy decentantio
how? it's been awhile since i played but you can access like 70% of the game immediately with no power ups or traversal abilities. unlock-the-final-door bosses can be fought in any order, etc
>one of the best games in this decade
>hot topic nightmare before Christmas aesthetic
>shit healing system
>story ripped straight from the souls games
>bosses on par with Super Kirby Clash
Are you serious? The first 3 areas are entire linear, for sure. But after the dash and wall climb you can go pretty much anywhere. You can enter the Crystal Caves, Deepnest, Ancient Basin, Kingdom's Edge and so on before even setting a foot in the City.
damn you got me i love fortnite and ubishit
This very well put criticism cannot be applied to every single game, by the way.
wtf i hate hollow knight now guess i'll wipe my 112% save and delete the game
