Fucking amazing and kino game. Talk about why you love it of hate it and discuss Halo 2.
Halo 2 thread
Impossible to hate the only good video game ever created. All we can do is hope that a second good video game is made one day, but it doesn't look like it in the near future.
I went to the midnight launch and some guy jumped in the fountain in front of Game Stop and splashed around screaming "HALO 2, WHOOPDEEDOO!"
level variety, mission design, story, music were the best Halo's ever been.
this is my least favorite of the trilogy and one of my least favorite halo games, but it bets the 343 shit at least. not being a contrarion but this game was always a chore and i hate the multiplayer. CE is the tits though, 3 is cum inducing.
Playing online, joining clans, the campaigns, the music. It's all still so vivid in my mind despite not playing it for over a decade. Why do modern online games consistently fail in capturing the magic this game had? It can't just be nostalgia, I still enjoy newer games today.
Gotta second this, 1 and 3 were peak Halo. 2 is great, but those two are God-tier.

Good:
-Great Legendary campaign despite being too hard for many, still good Heroic
-Great levels and level variety
-Great encounters/fights
-Great pacing overall
-Good vehicle segments with actual choices
-Competent marines
-Great weapon sandbox
Bad:
-Often ugly as fuck, overall aesthetic aside
-Flaky melee
-Some weapons outclassed on Legendary
-Shotgun
>console FPS
faggots
>only ever played it on PC
>console FPS
I don't understand.
It's better than 1 but worse than 3
like a sequel should be. however that is not the case here as 2 is not better than CE.
Why?
pc hasn't had a good fps in 20 years
i just played through this campaign after not playing it for over a decade, and it was as amazing as I remembered it. A bit longer than most FPS titles in my experience too. I really love the craziness of that last few levels when it's you, vs the flood, vs the elites, vs the covenant all at the same time.
I also just played through the Halo 3 campaign after a decade as well and was pretty disappointed, way shorter and didn't really seem to hit a "high" the whole time.
One line with absolute perfect delivery and accompanied with an excellent musical score carries more weight than the whole rambling incoherent speech from the orc in Infinite.
Good game, but I prefer Halo 1. Probably because 1 had more of a focus on traversing large-scale locations and Halo 2 had a lot more smaller-scale areas. Really like how 2 fleshed out the story/lore and gave us more insight from the covenant perspective.
Also I've always been put off by how the game feels like it ends 2/3rds the way through, with that blatantly cut-off cliffhanger ending. Especially since I played these games on PC and have actually never played Halo 3.
Speaking of which, how is Halo 3, and is it out on PC Anniversary Collection yet?
just as poignant was that tartarus doesn't immediate shout "NO!" the actually fucking thinks about it for a second
yeah 3 is out and it continues directly where 2 leaves off. very good games to play in sequence.
>Fate had us meet as foes, but this Ring will make us brothers.
Ah, kino.
I imagined that in my head and spat my drink, god I love Halo 2 fans. The BEST online experience I've ever had.
Playing H2A and holy shit they turned up the production value on the cutscenes.
They straight up look as if they got pulled from a Michael Bay flick now.
They also ruined them by cutting 2-5 seconds out of every scene and adding in their god-awful transitions, sound-effects, and a bunch of other needless shit. I really do not care for Halo 2 Anniversary.
Yeah I only switch H2A mode on to see the new cutscenes. The graphical update looks better than CE's did, but it still makes things seem too cluttered.
You, know, it just occurred to me that you could cut this game down to 7 long levels and it would be more or less the same.
The game is seven long levels, what the fuck are you talking about?
the thing i noticed the most playing through it was how fucking dark it is in so many levels with anniversary graphics turned on. I kept swapping all the time just so I could see, especially on those early arbiter missions.
The cutscenes are dark so Blur could save $$$, the game itself is dark because the by-the-hour contractors 343i hired to do the new graphics couldn't give less of a shit.
Got to play Halo3 for the first time and I was so shocked with how much higher quality 2's campaign was. 3 had more crap overall but 2 actually felt like it was a planned out campaign as opposed to a rushed jumbled mess. Its a shame 2 had to scrap its lighting system at the last minute because the old xbox couldn't handle it. It looks so god damn flat.
It’s 13
>Why you love it
Breaking Benjamin
2004 edgy emo Cortona design
What's not to love?
It reminds me of a time when I was happy.
Definitely the hottest she ever was
Too bad halo 4 cortana’s mommy milf arse and tits blow her the fuck out the water
Worst campaign out of the holy trilogy but Metropolis and Gravemind are the first and third best missions in the series. Cartographer is #2
