Ok. Spoiler warning.
You were originally the slutty cousin of a saint named Alma. You got sick with AIDS or some shit so she went on a journey to save you. She finds a chalice that has magical healing powers and shit, but it's also got some kind of greed curse that makes her extremely possessive of it. By the time she finds it you're already dead. Alma vows to travel the world healing people alongside her adventurer friends. Somewhere on her journey she almost dies and finds out she has a second heart, the sign of vampirism. She asks her friends to destroy her body after she dies so her corpse doesn't resurrect as a vampire. Vampire hearts are apparently semi-sentient and so Alma's tried to find her body after it was removed, but it failed to do so. The next best thing it could do was possess you, Alma's slutty cousin and also a conveniently located corpse in the ground that it could assimilate. You take on the identity of Doris and go on to do slutty vampire things for years. You eventually become lord of a castle. However, you get tricked into drinking holy wine by another vampire's minions so he can steal your castle and use it as a base to conquer the land. He does this to find Alma's lost chalice to produce an infinite supply of blood. Nobody knows the location but Alma because she hid it out of greed, so he's also using your castle as a place to perform the ritual of resurrection so he can bring Alma back and force the location out of her. You get pulled out of the water he threw you in by some villagers who bury you in a graveyard because water puts vampires in a coma or something. You wake up a long time after and the game begins.

I really love how extremely blown the fuck out the vampire playing demon lord in your castle got in the end. And how mind blown he was at the revelation of what happened to Alma's chalice.

Is the plot the most amazing thing ever? Not really. But I genuinely think it's told and executed excellently.
