i don't care about dmc, got it in some bundle and had fun

Nobody defend that piece of crap. If DmC is a 5/10, then dmc2 is easily a 2/10. Not only a bad dmc or a bad hack n slash, but a bad videogame in general

This. Even if it's not the best DmC ever, it's not really a particularly bad game, especially when exists.

is there any difference in content between this and switch version?

I started playing this a few days and it's not that bad. The art direction is actually quite good.

No

Only DMC fans hate this games. Its pretty fun for what it is and had the most visually insteresting stages in any DMC game.

This game was pretty damn good. I can understand the character criticism, but the gameplay was actually great. It also featured the best fucking style announcer in the series.

Great gameplay?
>No lockon
>30fps
>Colour-coded weapons
>Style meter where you can just mash a strong move three times to get SSS Rank
>Braindead AI even on the hardest difficulties
>Bosses that just sit around
>Constant interruption of gameplay with cutscenes
>Really stupid Vergil campaign
The game is pretty weak even by action game standards, although the Definitive Edition does /attempt/ to rectify some of this, even if shoddily

kys fucking weeb

And dont forget
full animation-based attacks, like the rainstorm

based

Im dumb what does that mean

The first Nier
>muh story
I don't care what the fame has to say if it plays like shit. If they just wanted to tell a story, should've made it a visual novel.

>No lockon
Different =/= bad
>30fps
Not for PCchads and Definitive Edition
>Colour-coded weapons
Actually great when mixed with normal enemies to force you to think hard about how to prioritize your combos. Also, not an issue in definitive edition.
>Style meter where you can just mash a strong move three times to get SSS Rank
Style meter is more forgiving, but this doesn't exactly damn the game.
>Braindead AI even on the hardest difficulties
Still better than the AI in DMC5
>Bosses that just sit around
>Constant interruption of gameplay with cutscenes
Cutscenes are skippable, even DMC3 has mid-mission cutscenes. Walkie-Talkie sections are a bit annoying, but the levels are overall much better designed than DMC4/DMC5's hallway to arena design.
(Haven't played the Vergil DLC, so can't comment on that.)

I'm dumb too so I invented that term. I mean, when you do some attacks, it iniziate a pseudo cinematic of Donte doing the attack, without any weight or gravity

I'd rather play it than MGR

>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they love it when 5 does the training mode thing
>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they love it when Nero does the "fuck you!" thing
>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they love it when Vergil does the clone thing
>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they fucking love it when 5 makes the combos easier and streamlines the combat
>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they love, absolutely fucking LOVE when 5 makes JC's absolute baby mode to do
>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
>But they love it when 5 does the "DT is godmode now lol" with STD

Don't forget to mention that these attacks lasts an eternity.

You mean like all of Dante Sin attacks in 5? Ok, I get it.

Addressing things aren't fixed by Definitive Edition (although needing a DE to fix issues is in itself questionable):
>No lockon = Different =/= Bad
I disagree, in a game like DMC which has a strong focus on crowd control and weighing the worth of taking out a stronger opponent vs surrounding goons, removing the option of locking on is really questionable (the bandaid solution they applied is to give every move insane range). DE does attempt to fix this but it's still pretty shoddy (at *least* props for implementing it, I guess)
>Colour-coded weapons mix things up
I would normally agree... in a different kind of game. DmC leans a bit more into the fluidity of Bayonetta than the weightiness of DMC. Accepting that, going through enemies that break the flow of gameplay simply because they're a different colour just makes it tedium (not difficult), because one distance miscalculation (thanks to the range of the weapons) can lead to the flow screeching to a halt. DE does rectify this though.
This is more of an opinion, but one thing I like about the other DMC games is that you can approach any enemy with any weapon, and be stylish by doing so (and the game rewards you accordingly). Taking away options instead is a misstep to me.
>Style meter doesn't damn the game
When the game is advertised as a "stylish action game" and you can achieve said style by mashing X/Square/etc three times... eh. When style has been the basis of the series, it also just makes DmC look inferior in this regard.
>Cutscenes
I'm more talking about mid-fight cutscenes where the characters spout dumb one-liners and you're railroaded into some babby platforming.
Granted level design here is really nice, and I wish we got to see more of this dynamic nature in DMC5, but oh well.
I think my point is that it took a re-release (not a patch) to fix issues that were not just never in DMC before, but were also generally absent in many action-games.

>>Fans say they hate everything about DmC
Literally no one says this, DmC's level design is near universally praised and Combichrist fits the tone of the game.

Im a dmc fan that completed 3 and 4 dozens of times and I enjoyed the reboot (for two playthroughs). u mad? yeah u mad boi

dilate jarpig tranny

So we're at the point now where nostalgia babies for DmC are old enough to post here now? Alright.

I remember playing this years ago when it was free for PS3 on PS+. Didn't care for the story, humor, and edginess. Other than that, thought the gameplay was alright.
Happy I played it before moving to the actual Devil May Cry franchise tho
