You're more then a decade late zoomie

why the fuck did ratchet turn into a weird fucking cat

Yeah, but it’s $40 for a used copy, and still has some issues.

That reached a natural climax with Deadlocked so I see why they felt a need to go in a new direction.
The Future series' story wasn't the right call though, and the Movie was even worse since in its attempt to soften Ratchet's image for a broader audience it lost any sense of humor. I hope Rift Apart finds a better identity for the series than a Space Opera Chosen One narrative, the actual gameplay of the recent titles is still great.

Ratchet Deadlocked was the peak of the series in terms of gameplay and message (with one following right behind).

Up you arsenal

This.

It was never good.

Aren't they now doing an option for an optimized mode that runs at 60fps with decreased graphical effects starting with Miles Morales?

Hardware mipmapping, jak series had the same issue. I think its been fixed now tho

It's worse than you remember
>gamers don't care about 30fps
>30fps doesn't affect review scores
>it's too hard
it's embarrassing for a season dev to cry to Eurogamer like this.

Only on Zig Forums have I seen the future series get hated on, it wasn't bad you hyperbolic faggots. The ps2 series was the best and got better with each iteration.

My man. That said I still have fun with Tools of Destruction. Didn't play anything beyond.

You definitely need to try crack in time. It was a beautiful game to be honest.

was this series ever any good? I've never played any of them and never plan to, even as a kid this looked visually unappealing to me.

Yes it good. Play the first 3 in order and go from there.

Ratchet & Clank was and always has been my favorite of the big 3 PS2 platformer series. Sly a close second.

I played all of the mainline games save for Nexus at launch when they were relevant. I got a PS3 originally just for Tools Of Destruction.

After they released A Crack In Time, they kept releasing spin offs. All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault. It made no sense to do this and keep spamming new Ratchet games annually. Nexus was released the year after FFA. Same year PS4 launched. Then they did the movie and the movie-game and... It sold well apparently.

Honestly, the main games didn't necessarily drop in quality. But the formula was getting stale after ACiT. They really didn't need to release those spin offs only to release Nexus randomly after them.

The handheld games weren't stellar, but I think Size Matters was overall a solid entry considering it was a handheld game. Secret Agent Clank was also just okay but Sanzaru fubar'd the PS2 port unfortunately.

I still replay the original trilogy, but have yet to revisit the Future series. Maybe soon.
