post some more user. I remember reading the forums anticipating this game's launch, only to have it arrive at my house and refuse to run on my laptop.
Should have gone with WoW, but i wanted those sweet grafx and i was borderline retarded when it came to video games in general. If I'd known anything about Blizzard beyond SC:BW it would have been a no-brainer. that shit would have run just fine on my laptop. missed out on some great childhood gaming all because of EQ2 FUCK YOU OP

I don't know the colors, but I was a Shadow Knight and Rogue in 1 and a Rogue and a Warlock in 2. I remember the first time we tried Trakanon... I think there was 40 of us. I remember pulling corpses to the zone. We tried his at least 7 times before we got him. The trains in Lower Guk.... damn good times.

I like what EQ2 became honestly, it's not amazing but it's fun enough for me to come back and explore the world.
I'd like to play EQ1 more since I pay for all access but I'd really need someone to hold my hand on live.

Blue and green are private servers from Project 1999. Blue goes up to Velious and green is a refresh with no expansions yet.

P1999 was a great community experience. I lost count of the number of times a high level player wandered past my camp and dumped gear on me across various characters.

I wish we could "relive" EQ1, but we can brother. EQ1 isn't the same now. You see back then a company called Verant International (a man named John Smedley). It wasn't long after that Sony Online Entertainment) and completely ruined the game. So, the magic that you long for? The magic I felt.... you'll never feel... that's not a knock on you, it's just the truth.

Let me try that again.... Verant got bought out by SOE and the game went to shit, but the magic we all felt when Verant was running it..... that's something you'll never get to experience. That's not an insult toward you, it's just the truth. The first time running the Plane of Fear, or Hate.... having to spend 2 hours waiting for your POR to get their bodies and arguing over who's fault the wipe was... genuine good times.

It was cool at the time but I'd rather play Live EQ1, I didn't experience it at it's peak so I don't have nostalgia for older EQ

No bro, if you don't have "nostalgia" that doesn't mean you can't do you thing and have fun. You do your thing and let no one else tell you otherwise. I was just being an old man and "reminiscing" for a moment. But, I still hold to my opinions. EQ is a masterpiece, regardless of what Zig Forums or anyone else thinks. On my server we had WoW devs playing... this was before World of Fagcraft came out.... where do you think they got their ideas? Blizzard stole most of their game from EQ... only to turn it into a cartoon shitshow.

EQ1 was such a delight. Granted I knew absolutely nothing that was going on and only made it like level 20 but as a young 7 year old it was quite magical. EQ2 was pretty fun when it came out too. SWG is still the best MMO time Ive had
