What's the hardest dark souls boss for you?
What's the hardest dark souls boss for you?
fume knight's pretty hard
Right now I'm doing a SL1 run DS1 and I'm getting stonewalled by 4 kings
Friede fucked me up. Phase 2 is just hard to position and time your attacks, and phase 3 is so dangerous and late in the fight that it’s hard to get a grasp on what you’re doing.
It's gotta be Friede. Going from that fight to Lord of Cinder was laughable
Demon Prince did fuck me up for a bit though
Get mask of the child, RTSR, and your weapon of choice. You can set up your health by kicking one of the hollows near the elevator and blocking their attacks with a weak shield.
priscilla makes me the hardest
To me it was lost sinner before any patches and before I knew about AGL and i-frames. I also did all the DS2 DLC on ng+7, but they were more annoying than difficult.
Forgot about RTSR think I might sacrifice the giant for his hammer
friede by a longshot, mostly be ause it takes 5+ minutes to get to the hard phase. midir and manus probably behind that
>friede
just unga bunga her with charged R2's the fuck she gonna do frostbite you
Aldritch took me like a month before I could properly doge his magic.
I'm still stuck on twin princes, but I'm not actively playing it right now.
being stuck reminds be of actually feeling like I'm playing a video game
Friede mostly because phase 2 can get sloppy and phase 3 needs you to be top form. midir being so predictable and not having any delayed attacks made him easy to learn. Oh the other shit boss i always died to,.... the spider boss in dark souls 2 with the laser beams and spider adds everywhere.
Literally none of them. If you can shield them, shield them. For everything else, roll i-frames. Rolls with i-frames were a mistake.
I personally struggled the most with manus though I have only played 1 & 2
he was hard but doable after a few retries, not as hard as everyone says
I was stuck on stupid with Orphan for the longest of any bosses. Pretty sure it's the only boss I've ever felt stuck on. Just kept doing stupid shit.
Have yet to beat fume knight.
The most kino boss is ivory king, that drop down to the arena and fighting with the knights was amazing.
Unnamed King, he just.keeps.attacking.
I used Havel's armor and the hammer you get from killing the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo to beat the Four Kings. As long as you have enough estus you should just be able to facetank them at SL1.
Probably Friede. She’s not only absurdly fast, but good at rollcatching, has a gank phase and has ridiculous damage output. Genuinely a harder fight than anything Ringed City.
I spent like 10 million hours on Soul of Cinder on my SL1 run even though I didn't find it particularly difficult on my first playthough, don't know why it filtered me so hard. Champion Gundyr also gave me trouble on another similar low level playthrough but I still think it took longer to beat SoC.
O&S were also really difficult on a run where I was using the bandit's knife, I eventually found it easier to just kill Smough first and fight big Ornstein instead of the other way around
The trick to NK is to realize that his combos aren’t actually that long (usually 3-4 attacks per combo) but tend to have delayed followups that increase the time you have to spend on guard and don’t have particularly long windows between them. Best way to handle this is bait out as long as possible combos before doing anything that’s not dodging or blocking.
I see a lot of people talking about how Kalameet is so hard, but I beat him second try. Friede was hard though.
Friede for me, she's very good at punishing the tiniest mistakes and phase 2 is obnoxious
Fume Knight is a popular choice but he's extremely easy, he only has 1 attack that you can't just strafe and he telegraphs everything
i fucking HATE smelter demon
Freide by far, followed by Manus.
If we’re counting other modern From games, I’d say Papa owl. Ludwig pushed my shit in for a bit, but I eventually got used to him. He is the best fight they’ve made imo.
Gael
I did relatively well against all the bosses, 1st-trying most.
But for some reason, the fucking Dancer and Pontiff in 3 had me throwing a fucking fit. Took way too many tries to beat them. They were fine once I beat them since I knew how to now, but holy fuck where they hell to face at first.
I couldn't kill Manus. I never replayed dark souls 1, since release of dark souls 2, but I'm pretty sure even now, after 3 games and bloodborne he will be difficult as fuck.
I always mistakenly try to fight Dancer in DS3 a little earlier than I should and get absolutely destroyed by her.
Just get magic, she is a very easy fight
unironically the pursuer
Everything in Souls games is piss-easy with magic.
Pontiff is the obligatory souls game casual filter but man was he difficult for the point in the game he was located, he's very annoying to fight when you're low level
But you can parry him
It's probably because my parry-game is fucking trash, even to this day. I can do it relatively okay on normal enemies and bosses with very obvious tells, but i'm not really good at ti. That's probably where my main problem came in.
I beat Pontiff first try and Dancer in the second one, dunno why people have so much trouble with them.
Stand REALLY close to them. The closer you are, the less damage you take. Yeah...
Basically, stand next to them and spam R1.
And yes, Havel set from Anor Londo helps.
I honestly don't know what to tell you. I did fine against everything else in the game. A loss or two against Gael, a few against Freide and the Nameless King. But Pontiff and Dancer? They fucking reamed me.
Slap that fat bitch with dark hand if you wanna fight her early
Well, Gael gave me a lot of trouble desu. I couldn't tank his bullshit damage in his 3rd phase.
twin tigers in ds2 because holy fuck the route to them in the snow is aids, i gave up after a few tries
i didnt know at the time, also my parry is unreliable
