Why can’t you actually form a coherent argument on why these games are good? I played every game in the franchise, i finished Persona 1, Persona 2, Persona 3 & 4. 5 is the only one so awful that i couldn’t even force myself through it

Persona 2 is the only Persona game that bothers to tell a good story and have enough gameplay to make it a actual game. The other games railroad you with roadblocks, 80% of the games are filler content, poorly written one dimensional characters, the stories have no stakes since nobody can die due to needing to be alive for waifu shitters. You are forced to grind through endless amount of filler days solely for the story to allow you to get to the actual gameplay again. In Persona 2 it takes 10 minutes to reach the first dungeon & get out of the tutorial school level. In Persona 5 it takes 6 hours before you finish the tutorial level which is the Kamoshida Palace & the story actually opens up past the prologue.

You need to not watch one decent anime in your life in order for these games to really 'click'.

well I have only played Persona 4 but I like the characters, setting, plot. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive and I'm not a big fan of those randomly generated dungeons but I like that I can use mythological deities as battle machines. The life sim stuff is comfy

Imo, I like Persona 4, but not Persona 5.
Of course, I don't like Persona 4 as much as a mainline SMT game, but I still think it's somewhat good. I think what I like about it is the town of Inaba. Almost has a nice atmosphere to it. I like the characters, except for Yukiko and Teddy. I don't wanna fuck any of them though, because I'm not some faggala who obsesses over high schoolers on the internet.
Along with that, I think Adachi is a great villain, at least compared to Persona 5's shit main villain.
