Hello! Today I'll be teaching you how to use the "sage" function.
What this feature does is allow you to post a comment without bumping the thread. You do this by typing "sage" (with no capitals) into the "options" field of your comment.
Now, you might be asking yourself "why should I do that?" Well, using sage lets you post in a garbage thread without bumping it, that way it'll hit page 10 and be deleted sooner, and this makes the board a better place.
The word sage is not pronounced like the plant, but instead as "sah-geh." This is due to its Japanese origins, it comes from the word sageru which means "to lower." It was adopted for use on Zig Forums, but since it's no longer possible to see when another user is using sage the use and knowledge of it has quickly dropped.
Sage doesn't actually mean anything for the longevity of an already active thread. If anything, you're only going to delay the time until it hits bump limit, which goes against the point. Use sage when you see a thread with few replies or when activity has already died down. If the OP just has a simple question, using sage means the thread will not be bumped by you or him and the thread can be over much sooner
I thought they got rid of sage years ago Pretty sure m00t announced it or something
Charles Clark
I for one would love to have sexual intercourse with the character Fuuka from the Yotsuba manga series
Christian Collins
not really, sage still works, the only different thing is that you can't see who uses it and who don't anymore
Carter Lee
he didn't, he just changed the way it works. Saging just doesn't bump the thread, rather than acting as an anti-bump
James Taylor
Thick eyebrows are signs that a gorl is in fact a best
Jaxon Jackson
I think fuuka is ugly tbqh.
Lincoln Perry
fuuka is very cute ngl
Henry Evans
Look who it is again, ID Heaven. I'm fed up with your shit faggot. The other day when you called me a newfag, yeah, haven't forgotten about that yet. Fuck you I've been on here for months and probably get on here more than you anyways. Don't you know that you make yourself look like a newfag when you call others newfag? Just because you learned how to hack your name and change it to "Heaven" does not give you the right to disrespect anyone at any time.
"sageru" would imply a downvote but it never worked that way The only change is that you can't see who uses sage, and you get banned for claiming you did (even if you don't, which is funny to me)
Also apparently a lot of people don't know that it's pronounced sa-ge and not saje
James Rogers
I've been reading through this series, finally, and it's maximum comfy
I wish women had long, flexible, strong, tails that become erogenous when aroused alongside being 7'+ tall so they could peg me with the tail as we engage in vagina intercourse.
Zachary Campbell
this thread reminded me that people used to put "sage" in their comment when they thought a thread was shit but still wanted to give the OP a piece of their mind
makes me realize I've been on here way too long
anyway, sage
Blake Morgan
>t. Woody Allen
Austin Morgan
it always worked
Wyatt Taylor
I want to marry Fuuka and adopt Yotsuba as our daughter.
Charles Robinson
Imagine getting adopted and then finding out your father was just trying to groom you into being his wife. What a garbage father you would be.
Owen Thomas
holy shit I just realized I put that in the options field years ago, forgot about it, and chrome has been autofilling it this entire time
That's actually why it's invisible now. Sage is a feature that was created when you didn't want to bump a thread with (You)r shitty reply and wasn't meant to be a downvote.
Wait, does saging still work in 2020? I though t they disabled it years ago.
Henry Sanchez
holy shit that's hilarious
Mason Morales
>make a PSA about sage >don't actually know its real use You don't post in a shit thread at all, you report and move on. Sage is not a downvote. Sage is used for posts that have nothing to do with the topic of discussion.
