Can we agree that speedrunning is the most autistic thing about vidya, if not THE most autistic hobby known to man?

Can we agree that speedrunning is the most autistic thing about vidya, if not THE most autistic hobby known to man?

I don't think this is healthy, to do the same thing over and over again as fast as you can, followed by the frustration that results from fucking up just once. These people are unironically mentally ill.

>I am accusing you of cheating
no one talks like that

Yeah. Agreed.

It borders between fun entertainment and crippling OCD

the guy spends all day looking for ways to perfect a run in TTYD with TAS

off course he talks that way

it was probably a response to something chibi said
"i will analyze this later and conclude with more information later" is a way worse offense i think

I agree but it's fun too watch. When you think about it sports guys aren't much better, professional footballers and lifters often ruin their health to be optimal at their stuffs

>Can we agree that speedrunning is the most autistic thing about vidya,
That's Zig Forums though.

Speedrunning's second.

The only "speedrunning" I've ever done was par times on Doom and Super Meat Boy

it can be fun but it's very autistic and only certain communities are any good, and only certain games are truly fun or entertaining to watch.

also SummoningSalt's World Record Progression series has been garbage for a long time now. nobody wants AND THAT WAS THE RECORD FOR A MONTH UNTIL A GUY CAME ALONG AND EXECUTED IT SLIGHTLY BETTER SAVING TWO SECONDS for 30 minutes. People want gigantic skips or routing strategies or glitches or sequence breaks that shave off entire minutes and fundamentally change how that game is played from that point on.

I enjoy seeing glitchless speedruns because it feels like they are actually playing the game and they are just have a ton of knowledge about it. It seems like an actual speedrun.
Glitch speedruns definitely take skill, but it's not the same. Like in Fallout NV, everyone always does that stupid revolver glitch to move faster, but at that point they aren't even really playing the game, they are just playing the game engine.

So was he cheating? I never cared enough to look into it, but seeing this image constantly makes me want a conclusion

Yes, it is the most autistic. Speedrunners basically never have anything to contribute to game criticism other than "muh strats"'

I use to speedrun fallout 3 when I stayed over at my friend's house, after the game came out. I had already beat it like 3 times and new you could go to smith casey's garage to skip a bunch of early game quests so I showed him how, and he was amazed that I beat the game in one night. Good times.

Yeah he was cheating.

Yes but chibi rules.

Chibi was speedrunning Paper Mario TTYD and did some sort of frame perfect skip that's neigh impossible to do without it either being tool assisted, or without cheats.

Surprise surprise, he was cheating.

>Hurd Hurd /vee/ baaaad xD
Fuck up tranny

speed run autists

What's chibi doing these days?

He confessed to cheating and got exiled from speedrunning communities

Yeah he tried to cheat in an autist filled hobby where autism is so strong men try to become women. Think about how retarded that is.

He admitted it like a pussy to the guy accusing him before he even started his "research"

The only thing I ever find interesting about Speedruns is Tool Assisted stuff, where they break the game and explain weird idiosyncracies in the games code to beat Mario 64 in like 20 minutes or something

Anybody who legitimately speedruns without using computers is autistic

>I don't think this is healthy, to do the same thing over and over again as fast as you can, followed by the frustration that results from fucking up just once.
Wait til you hear about actual running.

>Know that speedrunning is one of, if not the most, autistic thing related to videogames
>complains asking if its autistic
fuckoff faggot

NOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST PLAY THAT GAME IN WAY I DONT LIKE!!! STOP BEATING THAT GAME TOO FAST! HEY! STOP DOING THAT GLITCH!!! WATCH IT, TURN THOSE ITEMS BACK ON YOUNG MAN!!!

speedrunning is fine when it's a fast platformer or a game with multiple routes or exploits, like mario and doom
it only falls into autistic territory if you speedrun games that weren't meant to be speedrunned like RPGs

Attached: 1595631561810.gif (128x128, 10.61K)

that's like saying Mexico borders Japan

Nah but TAS is often really cool.

Theres a great Rayman TAS on youtube that id recommend to pretty much any gamer

yes because literally anything in the universe is more autistic than obsessing over shitty developmental builds of mario games

Defining glitchless is arbitrary no one can agree on what is or isn't a glitch some argue damage boosting is a glitch for example. I do agree most any% runs are boring as fuck cause unless you played the game you have no fucking idea what's going on.

>t. speedtranny

>It is only autistic if I don't like it
user come on. Some people think that playing or talking about vidya is autistic.

Routing, optimization, and planning in general requires a lot of thought, collaboration, and practice. The construction of a run is often more interesting and respectable than someone grinding out times, dedication and self improvement aside. Putting up with shit RNG to chase an arbitrary time instead of meeting a personal goal for execution is definitely autism though

He admitted to using a gecko levitation code, the exchange basically went:
>chibi admits to cheating on skype to malleo
>he then denies it and leaves the skype convo
>he then later return only to admit to it again and proceeds to delete all his social media (twitter, twitch, etc)
>while his twitch channel is pending for deletion the chat is still active and his former mods that want nothing to do with him start talking shit about how he stalks girls that watch the stream or use donation money ment for charity/GDQ to pay his moms bills and car repair
But as we all know he couldn't stay away from becoming "pro speedrunner" so he returned like two months later with the usual shenanigans, thinking it had all blown over.

Agreed.

I post benchmark speedruns for new releases which are hella fun to do, and provide insight to others about mechanics and more efficient use of features.

Competitive though? Leave it to the GDQ clowns. Unless you're a popular content creator, then you pretty much waste your life away.

>Chibi was speedrunning Paper Mario TTYD and did some sort of frame perfect skip that's neigh impossible to do without it either being tool assisted, or without cheats.
What happened is that he fucked up the timing of the jump but still got it, that what clued everyone in

Speedrunning is cool as it always entertaining to see people who are really good at what they do. The community is filled with freaks though which tells you something.

It's like a bell curve of enjoyment with glitchless on one extreme and constant glitching on the other, and it really depends on the game. Look at OoT. Any% ACE is one of the most boring runs ever, but glitchless is a big snoozefest too compared to middle ground categories like GSR, or 100% NSR before ACE existed.

Speedrunners are degenerates and autistic but that doesn't make SPEEDRUNNING itself a bad thing it can be fun and keeps really old games new and fresh instead of being forgotten forever.

>What's chibi doing these days?
dyed his hair blue to initiate his trannyscension and crying on twitter cause his mom told him he should never become a father

Just straight up collection is more autistic
At least speedrunners have a goal in mind, albeit pointless.

>nobody wants AND THAT WAS THE RECORD FOR A MONTH UNTIL A GUY CAME ALONG AND EXECUTED IT SLIGHTLY BETTER SAVING TWO SECONDS for 30 minutes
Y-yeah
N-nobody does...

His mom is based as fuck how could she bear such a faggot child in the first place? Is autism really that bad?

and? theres nothing wrong with that.

Speed running is fine if you live in your own house and dont get autistically mad and cry over it.
Most speedrunners however do leech off their parents and are autistic as fuck to boot, which is why I usually avoid them.
Simpleflips is pretty cool though.

Normal speedruns and TAS speedruns are really cool outside of just breaking the game in two and manipulating bugs and unintended stuff to teleport everywhere. It's boring as shit to watch that, unless they do a good job of explaining why it works. Normal speedruns where they just play the game the way it was meant to be played is pretty boring too, outside of faster 2D or 3D platformers.
