Just got done defeating Lucifer on Hard mode, is it supposed to be so easy? According to Zig Forums, Nocturne is a difficult game, but my whole experience tells me otherwise. Is Lucifer supposed to waste his turn healing for a pitiful 220 damage? Or do I just not "get" it?

Neither.
You just got gud
Congratulations, Hee Ho!
Nocturne is only hard if the only JRPG you've played is pokemon or nuPersona on normal/easy.
Thanks user, I was halfway through the game when the remaster trailer dropped and it inspired me to finish the rest. I also attribute my easy win to the White Rider set I threw together right before Kagutsuchi. Time to wait until Spring to see if they make the game any more difficult
I played through on normal recently, planning on playing Hard when the remake comes out
What am I in for?
get the hardtype hack if you want real torture
Am I a pleb for thinking that this plays like absolute shit? I'm 30 hours in and I hate the fusion system and dungeon design with a burning passion.
Not that user but I'm playing through hardtype now.
>mfw Uzume full kagutsuchi fight
>mfw she Beast Eyes and summons Sarutahiko when she's alone
>mfw he Dragon Eyes when he's alone.
That fight is fucking terrifying holy shit.
what did you have on the white rider?
Congratulations on googling everything faggot.
SJfags like it because it's difficult for quite a while. A not insignificant number of people effectively cheated with the demon password system.

You can cheat with the demon password system?
I don't know if my experience is going to sour from now on, but I'm 5 hours deep and I'm absolutely loving it. I was dubious as fuck about the 1st person exploration, but it grew on me like a motherfucker. I also love that the alignments have actual meaning, I'm not stressing over capturing all the demo-mons but just finding the ones that suit me. The only negative thing I have to say is the standard battle theme.
There are online calculators to create custom demons, yes. You obviously still have to fork over the macca to summon them.
>but I'm 5 hours deep and I'm absolutely loving it.
Probably because the first dungeons are fairly small, aren't full of holes and have actual layouts. The later dungeons might as well be randomly generated like Tartatrus in P3.
oh fug
using it at all is cheating desu
debilitate from a wild loa i had been training, with the mothman from the labyrinth of amala its sole purpose was to debuff and spam tarukaja
It is. Sharing demons was a nice idea, but clearly not intended for a first run.
Why Atlus does not release the soundtrack for 'Deep Strange Journey' as it did with Royal ... There is favoritism.
To offer a different perspective, I enjoyed exploring every dungeon with my only real gripe being the dark zones, which I shamelessly looked up online how to get through (one spot in sector C comes to mind in particular)
Lucifer isn't hard just tedious. You need pierce just to hurt him and even with that he has a stupid amount of health.
I created the default demon and he costs a whopping 600k macca. How the fuck are you supposed to pay for this?
You can't cheat it that hard, but you can make illegal level-appropriate demons
I see, now I'm tempted. I like the story but the fusion system ruins this game for me.
SMT games are hard when you're getting into them but they're easy if you know what you're doing.
Lucifer uses Diarahan in the midway point in Chronicles Edition though.
That's not Daisoujou
I am sexually attracted to Pixie.
Watch what you say there buddy, that's my Pixie you're talking about
I played blind on hard and the biggest bump was matador. After him the game was smooth sailing, I think the only other hiccup I had was the oni with shadow clones that I cant remember the name of
SMT games tend to have an inverse difficulty curve where they start of brutal and then slide into effortless tier. But the 2/3rds mark of Nocturne I had Daisoujou acting as an endless healing and debuffing battery while one of the horseman (I think white?) was literally just erasing demons with God's bow. Tie that with the low encounter rate skill and the game completely lost any sense of difficulty
I think Strange Journey is pretty boring. It's too easy for each battle to be somewhat engaging, and the maps/floors go on way too long. I think the story is maybe the best a SMT game has had in a long time, but I just think it's pretty dull.
