For WBaWC, you can abuse releases.
Unlike UFOs, the spirit tokens stay on screen for a very long time, and don't disappear at the start of boss fights, so you can accumulate spirit tokens during the stage portion. Combined with the bonus spirits you get when you "time-out" a release, the spirits the bosses drop, and throw in some bombs, and you don't have to do much dodging.
For this playstyle, otter is the best spirit.

How do I 1CC PoFV (on Lunatic)?
I always lose at least 1 life on each of stage 6, 7, and 8 (almost always more), and Eiki you pretty much have to feed lives until you she lets you win, and I don't have the skill to outlive her with the amount of lives I usually bring.

try scoring during the first rounds of stages 6-9, since you're dying there at least once anyway (which is normal). basically, get to bonus and stay there. should be able to squeeze an extra life or two.
against eiki, it helps to keep moving, since some pellets are aimed and the rest are more likely to be shot in your general direction. that applies to all stages, but it's more important against eiki since hot dogs spawn from bullets, so things get even more congested if you try to micro in the same area.
aside from that, it's mostly just timing boss reversals at 100/300/500k and really utilizing chains and activated spirits to clear pellets.

I can usually get the all the score extends by using scoring strategies on stage 1-3 (basically, I do not shot anything for like a minute, which causes the rounds to go on for 2:30+ seconds and enter a spell-war phase where I can get a ton of score). Although I die on these stages relatively often, so it might be better to do it on stage 6-9 like you suggested.

i recommend not doing that since it isn't needed for survival and since that's time spent doing basically nothing when you could be actually playing and improving. plus it's lame as hell.

It's not as easy as you may think (at least not for me). Doing this made me realize that Lily is actually the no-fun-allowed anti-cheat fairy, because I often have to dodge through two Lily encounters while doing this. Throw in some EX attacks from the NPC opponent and it's pretty tough to dodge.
And I "need" it for survival, since I want the 90M score extend for Eiki. Still, I get what you want to say, and it would be ideal if I could just dodge my way to a 1CC.

They are pretty nasty, and not really something I like to see happen to the protagonists, but I won't judge you.

iirc Otter makes the game easier and lets you do some massive damage on top of things. Ignore the other animals if you want to go for a clear.

You still have to practice because the stages are pretty hard if you save all the spirit animals for the boss. The stage enemies have way more health than most of the games and being unable to kill them instantly really turns the stages into slogs.
