the content vault is dumb but whatever. What really pisses me off is sun setting gear. They can fuck right off with that bullshit. I bet the transmogrification they keep trying to justify as an alternative will be balls deep in eververse.

I got burned buying the 2 DLCS individually and grinding before the Forsaken. Finished the first raid, had a blast but had to stop playing because of travels.

Years later upgrading the game with all the content costs me around 40-50$, which is a lot and it looks like the worst time to start replaying. Luckily the whole game will be on gamepass in september so I will be able to catch up there.

Game size and bungie's horrible code they don't want to fix.
Easiest thing to do is just remove content.

The size limit issue is 100% a console concern. Like people have been saying though, the real issue bungie won't admit to is how old and patchwork the code base for destiny is.

The main concern is that, due to the current spaghetti code issue that D2 has, as more locations and systems get added on top of eachother, there is a growing potential that minor patches can completely break certain older systems.
The thought process is, by removing old locations that most people hardly ever go to anymore, they can focus on making faster updates for more recent and more popular content while not having to worry about older stuff breaking.
Plus, the locations going away actually have story reasons for being removed as well.
The whole philosophy going forward is that old locations and some activities will be rotated out and “vaulted” in favor of new stuff or remastered destinations from Destiny 1. It’s entirely possible that one or more of these locations that are going away will eventually comeback later, completely updated.

Yeah that’s the one thing I’m concerned about: how do you get new players caught up on the story?
The current system is a complete mess as the campaigns are pretty hidden for some retarded reason.
It seems like, when the Cosmodrome from D1 returns in the fall, that will be the new introduction zone for new players with new missions as well, but I’d like to see some kind of terminal in the tower where players can watch old cutscenes or at least some short video that catches them up.

They said these places might come back so I doubt they're getting nuked, most likely that they're just going to invade those planets and make them uninhabitable. There's lore about how some weaker life has been dying on these planets since they arrived.
