UG1>UG2
ur UGly lmao
>laughs in MW
based
Why can't EA remaster NFSU2 or other old titles? It's a guarantee easy money there.
They don't want to deal with licensing costs and ghost games got nuked.
contrarian opinion for contrarian faggots
this actually, i really hate the need to drive fucking everywhere on that stupid open world map in U2
What UG1 has over 2:
Better city
Better tracks
Better atmosphere
No pointless open-world nonsense
Better soundtrack
Better driving feel
Handmade AI opponents, no randomized colorvomit overtuned eyesore opponents
The game doesn't pointlessly drag on, as 2 does with the snoozefest that is URL races
What UG2 has over 1:
More cars
You can own multiple cars
Street X (lmao)
>""""HD"""" texture pack
LISTEN TO THE DRUMS
RIDERS ON THE STORM
>No
>No
>No
>Gay
>UG has better race music, UG2 has better garage and cruising music
>I thought they used the same engine?
>Agreed
>Agreed
Also street x is fun you cocksucker, it's a much better version of autocross
>remastering a game that works fine on PC at whatever resolution you want
???
this but your modded game is ugly and cringe
My starting car? The Peugeot 206, of course.
For me, it's the 240SEX
Thanks Slayer, very cool.
>Picking anything but corolla.
>weeb shit car
>not taking the Miats
who cares loser, did a weeb bully you at school?
I'd take the Civic
TO THE WINDOOOOOOOW
Thanks doc.
Fucking this.
I had no idea what cars were good or anything but as I kid I always picked miata into skyline.
>I'd take the Civic
Same. The 206 had shitty leafspring rear suspension.
I just finished this game yesterday, it has aged pretty well but it felt a bit too long at over 20 hours
MC2 and MC3 were superior to this trash
>no police
>no open world
>the progression is completely linear
>can't replay events
>the difficulty setting is almost pointless and extra cash is not worth it because there is nothing to spend money on
>the leaderboard is pointless
>extreme repetition, you race through the same track over and over
>the traffic is annoying and car physics extremely annoying
>your car flip flops and spazes out after making a jump or hitting a car
And worst of all
>the rubber banding is absolute bullshit, especially in the last third of the game, you can barely make any mistakes
Midnight Club is inferior to Midtown Madness
>gtaiv car modding.jpg
WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?
ARE YOU AFRAID OF ME?
I'LL MAKE YOU WISH YOU WERE DEAD!
Agreed
>game censors the word hell
Seriously
UG soundtrack sucks apart from Static X, Crystal Method and Rob Zombie
UG2 has QOTSA, Killing Joke, Rise Against and The Bronx
Reminder that first Underground has a song by a convicted pedophile so it would get removed
I thought the song "Sucked In" was saying "You've been sucked into Hell!"
I spent so much time in this and Most Wanted just driving around the city getting into chases with cops. And then for the next entry they decided illegal racing is morally wrong and they don't wanna condone it. wtf.
Just replayed MC3 remix and holy shit has that series aged like milk
>Skindred - Nobody starts playing
and Lostprophets
Street racing was all the rage back then with NFSU and Fast and the Furious. They probably got pushback from above and that's why the movies too got turned into action crime flicks.
>>no police
stopped reading there because that's actually a good thing imo, fuck the stupid police shit with godawful rubberbanding and annoying as fuck AI, just give me actual races and comfy cruising
>pedocore
>And then for the next entry they decided illegal racing is morally wrong
You mean Carbon? I'm pretty Sure prostreet had legal racing
My favorite is still Hot Pursuit 2
I like how UG2 MW and Carbon had intros with the main chick telling you to drive safely and use local race track and not the streets
Carbon was shite. The track designs were just "S" bend roads or big long gradual downhill minigames. NFSU2 was the last good street racer game.
>mfw I just found out PS2 version was different and superior to the pc one
Carbon is underrated, it was short and the crew system was underdeveloped but it still had its charm and I loved all the rewards and challenge series
Also the canyon races were really tense
Reminder that UG2 had useless SUVs, motherfucking SUVs.
For clarities sake, I have no nostalgia for Underground 2 because my childhood PC couldn't run it, but I did get to play UG and MW.
My childhood PC was super weird, as it ran Hot Pursuit, didn't run High Stakes, ran Porsche Unleashed, didn't run Hot Pursuit 2, ran Underground, UG2 was unplayable(Completely black screen when driving), ran Most Wanted(In slow motion at 15-20 frames a second)
I consider High Stakes, Underground and ProStreet my favorite of NFS games. A year or two ago I replayed through most of the NFS starting with High Stakes and ending with Undercover.
On to the arguments
>No police
Are you debating for Most Wanted?
>No open world
I found the open world to not really add anything to the game over all, Most Wanted didn't develop it any further other than use it as a playground for police chases, but whatever, I can see some people seeing the open world as a plus.
>the progression is completely linear
And the progression in UG2 is a complete grindfest. Do 5 events do URL > Do 10 events > Do 3 URL > Do 15 Events > Do 5 URL > Do 20 Events > Do 7 URL, something like that. Neither game wins any points for innovation here.
On a completely subjective note, I find that the UG linear progression had more personality put into it, unlike UG2 where it seemed that even in late game events the flavor text was treating you like a complete beginner
>extreme repetition, you race through the same track over and over
I will concede that track selection is limited compared to UG2. Downhill drifting was pretty fun.
>>the traffic is annoying and car physics extremely annoying
>your car flip flops and spazes out after making a jump or hitting a car
>the rubber banding is absolute bullshit
That goes for both games, UG1 had one 6 lap race near the end which was complete bullshit, on the other hand in UG2 rubberbanding makes the AI do some ridiculous shit, especially in the URL races, especially in the airport races.
I associate this one with UG1 much more than the main menu song desu.
youtube.com
Need for Speed games had always had trash car lists, it only started to get decent with Carbon/ProStreet.
UG2 went really hard into the Ricer culture, thats why we got the SUV nigmobiles.
