Jin was hardcore trained by Shimura to be an exceptional warrior (as a noble, he never had to waste time doing labor work) and is regarded as the best swordsman in Tsushima. He was also considered to have talent in using bows and studied under Ishikawa as well.
He then combined his samurai training with that of his growing thief/ghost skills.

For it to make sense it would have to be Jin's daughter or something if you don't play as Jin.
