It's a really stupid mechanic. So players are expected to buy expensive arcade sticks just to properly use a character?

I find it easiest to rotate with an analog stick over an arcade stick, dpad, or keyboard.

If someone built a fight stick with 17 small buttons in a row corresponding to all the inputs for two full circles in order, such that you just need to swipe your finger over them to complete the move, would that be tourney legal?

if it lets you do the motion in contexts you otherwise wouldn't be able to, than it might get banned
but if it doesn't allow for anything a normal pad or stick can't do, than i don't see why it would be ban worthy

360 inputs only check for cardinal directions and not diagonals in most games, and hitbox controllers are legal. You could get away with what you're wanting though, as you could map analog stick inputs separately from dpad inputs like how the Hitbox Crossup is doing.

fuck that, triggering dark metamorphosis in SotN when you weren't doing anything else was annoying enough, imagine having to do that twice under pressure.
More games should just use setups where holding a trigger or another buttons alters the functions of other buttons. You can bind a fuckload of stuff into a gamepad like that without making the inputs frustrating.
