>Star Citizen said they couldn't meet their old roadmap back in march, said they make a new one >The new roadmap is delayed >Now there's a roadmap in the works to make to roadmap to the progress of the game >Game has raised over 300 million since it was kickstarted eight years ago
Chris Roberts has turbo autism and wants everything to be fucking perfect, in a project with a 300 million dollar budget with a bunch of staff. He has never been in a position like this since he left the industry for a decade, and it really shows. I don't want to say he's intentionally malicious, just incompetent with unrealistic expectations.
Ayden James
So how long can they keep this going for? And do they have to refund the backers if this goes belly up?
Jace Nguyen
>roadmap for when the roadmap will be done >gets delayed >another roadmap made to determine when the roadmap's roadmap will be available >that gets delayed too >have to write up another roadmap for that roadmap >so on and so forth
they're asking for money on their Kickstarter to fund the roadmap.
David Butler
They could literally do nothing and just keep making empty promises while the cash rolls in lol
Aaron Campbell
They made the fatal decision to use an engine that wasn't remotely suited for the task and are now stuck trying to train a proverbial panda to herd sheep. A smart developer with even a shred of integrity would have made the call years ago to just save what they could and start over, but it's pretty clear CIG doesn't have anymore smart in a position to make decisions along with zero integrity. Now they are in way too deep to just tell everyone "lol we have to redo everything."
>Is this vidya's biggest scam ever, or what? Yep. They'll never finish the game because why would you ever want to finish it? People will keep throwing money in as long as it's in development so their best business interest is to keep it in development.
William Richardson
i heard you like roadmaps so i got a roadmap for your roadmap
Lucas Torres
>tfw I finished both highschool and uni and the game is still not not even 50% finished yet.
>why didn't they finish the most ambitious game in history in record speed?? this isn't another reskin like the mass produced fifa/souls/cod sequels that you zoomers love so much
Austin Perez
>so grandpa, what was it like being one of the first donators? >well kiddo, that was back when the project was only 5% complete. you youngins are lucky to see Star Citizen hit the 50% complete hallmark. When it releases soon(tm) you can tell your kids about how it was worth the wait
Adrian Myers
Why would anyone keep giving them money? What's their reasoning? How the fuck do they cope?
Isaac Miller
Oi! We got a live one here!
Ryan Ramirez
>>why didn't they finish the most ambitious game in history in record speed?? this isn't another reskin like the mass produced fifa/souls/cod sequels that you zoomers love so much
It was pathetic 5 years ago and it's even more pathetic now.
Alexander King
You guys don't understand. They are inventing new Roadmap Technology that no one in the business has ever seen before. Other companies will want to buy and incorporate this tech into their own progress reports. CIG is blazing a trail that will propel the games industry forward into the future golden era of Games Development.
Grayson Adams
I can only imagine they're subsisting on hype fumes and sunk cost fallacy at this point
Luke Hughes
>unfinished game >already has dlc Imagine being a backer lmao
Gavin Martin
Maybe if they released it while incomplete and gradually added features instead of working on 1000 different modules that are still not integrated in the main game, the most ambitious game ever wouldn't lead to suicides when it doesn't live up to the hype.
Matthew Thompson
i wonder whether the people that threw money at this gigantic scam years ago are still doing it or if they have moved on with their lives
William Morales
The incentive to release the game decreases the more money they receive
There's a reason you don't pay builders until they hit certain construction goals. So they just don't take the money and fob you off.
James Walker
not even objectively perfect, it's just him nitpicking details he deemed necessary
Charles Watson
So what's more likely? Roberts eventually pushing out a buggy piece of crap and declaring 'mission accomplished', or just saying 'fuck it' and fleeing to tahiti?
What if... the development of the game was the game all along?
Evan Moore
how the fuck that isn't finished have $24k DLC?
Parker Myers
>Now there's a roadmap in the works to make to roadmap to the progress of the game >A fucking roadmap to the roadmap I'm starting to think CIG are not scammers and that they really are that incompetent.
Can you even play "The Best Damm Space Sim Ever" right now in 2020? And even whats the point of spending real money, aren't you even playing the freaking game?
