According to these mandates, Toads are like Smurfs except all the unique male Smurfs with different accessories and ages are banned. This leaves the implication of a bunch of faceless Smurfs/Toads running a train on Smurfette/Toadette in order to procreate.

Odyssey, Galaxy, Sunshine, even 3D World expanded the character of Captain Toad into his own Spin Off series. And to some extend, Luigi, Wario and DK are mostly doing fine on their spin offs every blue moon when they get a new game.

You know what's the worst part? I wouldn't mind the lost of original characters that much if they at least would use the extense of the Mario roster again. Having Peach and Bowser being the "party" in Super (gameplay changes aside) was a good compromise, Luigi is always fun in this games, and Bowser is (fitting enough) the at his best in Bowser Inside Story and other RPGs.

Heck, make Daisy, Pauline and Rosaline Paper princess as well, bring back the Piantas, Yoshis and dinosaurs, Donkey Kong, the Portrait Ghosts, fucking Wario... I swear is like they believe Mario is only New Super Mario Bros, but even that have Nabbit and Toaddette.
