she's not confirmed to be a ghost. she cannot phase through walls with the exception of dragging mario into the void, her weird tail thing is constantly connected to the ground as opposed to levitating, and she's not a pale color like a typical mario ghost. she's somewhat ghost-like, sure, but any clue to her species besides "shadow siren" (which can easily just be the name of her former group rather than her species name) is not currently confirmed

and even if she was, she has interacted with physical objects before. she can punch enemies iirc
