I like the game, but i dont know how to play it, I am playing on Normal, end of chapter 14 and fuck i die in every conbat, i dont know how to improve the fucking materia

Are you leveling up your weapons for more materia slots? The materia levels up on it's own as you use it psure

Yes, i am leveling up the weapons

The difficulty did sorta ramp up at that chapter. Alot of the sidequest monsters are also alot stronger than your usual mobs. But it is still manageable. Do you link cure and magnify?

My neighbor dressed up as Tifa for Halloween last year. I came in my pants instantly the second I saw her

No, just cure :(

I love tifa

block
Learn to pressure/stagger

Constantly change characters to optimize the ATB

Use/exploit elemental magic

WHat enemy does bother you that much?

TIFA TIFA TIFA

Then link it. Cure + magnify/all is just OP. And use pray materia too. But pray uses both ATB bars IIRC and doesn't heal as much unless you equip it to Aerith or Barret + healing boost accesories. Use the deadly dodge at Barret or Cloud to manage crowds. During the climb to Shinra tower there's a spider bot that's annoying to fight. Prepare to throw some grenades and bolts when it's pushing out any melee attacks.

Just to cover some basics.
Shinra machines are weak to lightning
Human troops are weak to fire.
Steadfast block materia helps massively.
Cloud's counter stance fuckin destroy's melee enemies.
^This is sound advice.
Cloud's focused thrust and Tifa's focused strike should be used and focused heavily on tough enemies to stagger them. Make sure you've used each weapon's special moves to learn therm permanently especially Cloud's infinity's end and Tifa's True Strike. Also Tifa's Star Shower and Chi Trap is nuts. These make quick work of staggered enemies. Parry materia will help you dodge better.

When you're facing a large number of enemies at once, I find it helps to give Cloud ATB assist and spam triple strike as much as you can. Its damaging, knocks everyone down and gives everyone else plenty of ATB to ham.

Anzu, the boss, chapter 14

Thanks v/ros :D

this woman doesnt have the face, age or body to cosplay as tifa

Aps is weak to fire. Put elemental + fire on whoever is doing physical attack.

Put steadfast block on everyone if you can.
Use barret lifesaver + steelskin + magnify + manawall to reduce damage. Barret is your support. To get atb fast with him, just change, use overcharge, then change to another character.

Use firaga on aps. When hes pressured, use focused shot, focused strike and focused thrust to increase his stagger meter way faster.

When using firaga, try to aim to his parts like the two horns or the tail. Forget about the aps lings unless they are near and you really dont have anything to do.

Using firaga on aps will set him on fire, he enters pressure state. Use the focused X abilities to increase his stagger meter. You can also use the blizzard spells for more stagger.
Focus on blocking more than Dodging, dodging is more about dodging projectiles and cancelling backswings rather than i-framing yor way.

Fire+elemental and summon ifrit and crowd control the shit out of those annoying small buggers. Can't recall how is it on normal but on hard those fucker is annoying as hell to fight. Abzu itself isn't really that hard. Aim your fire spells on his horns. Especially when it's jumping on top of the ledge. That will sometime cancel his water attack.

Oh and if you see a couple of aps lings around together, maybe use triple slash with cloud to do a lot of damge to a lot of them immediately.

you're fucking retarded the only hard boss in the game is rufus and even then you can jut stall until you get limit and one shot him

You can take down Rufus without taking damage in hard mode if you know what you're doing. Stop and Sleep work on him. While he's asleep, Braver staggers him instantly.

If you want a hard fight, its in the Shinra combat simulator. Bahumet and Ifrit at once, only available in hard mode.

>the only hard boss in the game is rufus
dafuq? rufus is so easy it's almost impossible to lose. just block until he reloads then wail on him. hellhouse was by far the hardest boss.

>hard boss
>Rufus
This is low quality bait

user just be sure to spend ATB and switch as soon as possible, this draws agro and confuses the AI

>just turtle
Lol, what a fag. A real man dodges his bright lights or predicts his reload and braver his ass, no sleep no stop.

It is tough on hard.
Bioga wrecks Hellhouse. Keep the poison damage ticking on it preferably cast by Aerith with boosted up magic. This is probably the thing that helped me the most. It really cuts the length of the fight down. You can help Cloud survive melee by lightning+elemental on his armor. Cloud's counter stance will instantly pressure Hellhouse if you use it counter those charges. Obviously cast the right magic at the right time to hit his weaknesses. Deal with the toneberrys as quickly as possible.

>hellhouse was by far the hardest boss.
Galaxy-brain protip here: You can put the Hellhouse to sleep. It'll even turn off his God House barrier if it's up.

You fucking serious?

stop playing, RPGs are not for you.

WHAT?!

Learn the attack patterns

never knew this. thanks.

It's true. His intel screen even shows that he has no resistance to it. Apparently I'm the only person that's figured this out since even speedrunners just attack his hands when the god barrier comes up

ff veterans have lived their entire life playing games where status effects are useless on bosses so nobody tries them at all

I think doesn't always work on the hell house

I guess I just assumed he'd be immune to status effects.

Yeah, I just assumed literally no status effects at all would work. .

You only get one Magnify, and linking it with Cure of all things is absolutely fucking retarded even before you level up Pray to max. But if you are a retard who gets hit by every attack to begin with, maybe you need it that way.

If you're not retarded, Magnify should be used with Barrier, Time or an attack spell, usually Fire.

There are times when it can't work (like when he's flying around and during certain other actions), and I think it's possible for it to just miss/fail normally, but it worked fairly consistently for me in both normal and hard mode

Okay, I'm not sure why speedrunners don't use it but there's probably a good reason why

Status effects are useful on bosses in most FF games. The idea that they never are is a meme propagated by stupid players who grind levels and then mash X to win, instead of trying to use actual tactics.

They are particularly useful in FF7R though. The majority of bosses are weak to at least one crippling status effect like Sleep or Stop.
